Had been wanting to try The Bayard House for a while now and finally took a trip over there. I ended up having an absolutely amazing dinner there last night! (Note: We went before 4 so we still got the lunch menu) I got the Atlantic Fish N’ Chips and they were the best I’ve ever had! They have a beautiful crispness to them but weren’t overly hard. The cajun remoulade they came with was so delicious as well! Everyone else enjoyed their dinners too! They got the Blood Orange Salad and Double Smashburger. We also got the Beer Cheese Pretzels as an appetizer. Finally, we had an amazing dessert too consisting of the Keylime Pie and Apple Pie. I can’t recommend going here enough if you’re in the area. As a fair warning though, they are kinda pricey, but completely worth it at the same time. Also the area is decorated for Christmas right now, so that made it even more special!

This restaurant had very flavorful dishes. The soups were well seasoned (we all had a different flavor), the fish was incredible, the salad was so delicious, and the Smith Island 9 layer chocolate cake was incredible. It’s a stunning location on the canal with picturesque views of the water, the bridge, and the sunset. Our waitress was attentive but not overbearing. All around this was a great place to enjoy a fancier dinner in a nice atmosphere. Will definitely visit again next time I’m in the area and would highly recommend.

Barely any service. Server greeted us with 5 iced waters (most of us including young children don’t drink iced water), no plates to share appetizers, no knowledge around drinks, no description of any menu items, had to ask for more napkins and kid’s lids (which they don’t have). Worst of all, by the time kids are tired and ready to get home, she left the bill on our table and chatted with another table for a solid 10 minutes until I decided to pay at the bar. By the time I left the signed bill on the table she’s still showing her back towards me. I left standard dinner tips. None of us is caucasian, but she’s probably too young and naive to be in the service industry in a modern diverse community. We are here to celebrate Mid-autumn festival and determined to focus our energy on good time with family. Moon is beautiful on water. Food is decent, drink is a bit bland. Fun menu to read, would come back to the same waterfront but try a different restaurant.

Bayard House was the perfect venue for my daughter’s bridal shower. The space is beautiful, and the staff was wonderful. A special thank-you to the General Manager, Patrick, who went above and beyond to make the day seamless and stress-free. His professionalism and attention to detail truly made the event special. Highly recommend for any celebration!

The food was very good, especially the crab cakes, they were in effect nothing but crab. The Maryland crab soup was the best I’ve ever tried.
We sat near a rather loud party and the a/c was blowing right on us, so we asked to be seated elsewhere.
Other than that, the Bayard House is a great establishment, right on the water with great view of the bay. We recommend it, it won’t disappoint.
It’s also adjacent to a number of houses/businesses built around 1830, but maintained in excellent condition, so it makes for an interesting walk in the streets around it.

Just visited Bayard House for first time since new owner takeover and remodel. Place looks beautiful and really is at a level Chesapeake City needs and deserves. Bartender, Lori? (I believe was her name) was an absolute delight. She is a beautiful young lady with high energy and personality. Hard worker (She’s a nurse AND bartender) who ensured the afternoon was a delight. Had the rockfish and asked for a side of crabmeat, as was offered on their old menu. Portions were generous and seasoned perfectly. Partner had duck, which was interesting, as it was served as duck breast AND duck sausage. Delish! If you haven’t eaten there in a while, as was the case with us, due to quality inconsistency under the old owner, you MUST give Bayard House another try. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Bayard staff for a wonderful afternoon!

We got to sit outside where there was a live musician. I had an orange crush which I thought was a little expensive at $14, but it was very good. The food was a little pricey, but well worth it. The drunken clams were amazing, but should be served with some crusty bread to soak up the extra delicious broth. I will definitely be returning to try something else.

A decent restaurant with a beautiful location on the Delaware canal that has attentive service, nice dining areas inside and out and food that is good ( not outstanding, but good). Prices are reasonable given the location and overall ambience. Hoping the food steps up a bit in offerings and taste. Definitely a nice restaurant to enjoy a meal no matter the reason.
