If you’re craving authentic Afro-Caribbean flavors, Chef Mike Cuisine is a must-visit! The food is rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The oxtails with black rice were absolutely amazing– tender with a good savory flavor. And the fried plantains rounded out the meal! The portions were very generous! It’s inside the gas station but I highly recommend if you’re looking for bold, authentic Afro-Caribbean cuisine done right.

This store is near my home so I stop by regularly. When Mike’s store is open I always try to get a few of his breakfast sandwiches. In the best I’ve had the opportunity to try his Haitian patties and they are great. If you love spice and home made food it’s worth a try.

We stopped here after going to the DDS. Chef Mike is super nice. The food is excellent. I got an omelet with cabbage and she got the jerk chicken with cabbage and Mac and cheese.. the chefs sauce is like delicious ginger BBQ sauce. Wish I would have tried the pork. I have a reason to come back.

I started coming here around 6 months ago and the food never misses. I get an Afro Caribbean Vibe when I come here, which is literally the best of both worlds. They are always sweet when I call and order, even when I am indecisive. The food is always rich and flavorful. If you are wondering should you eat here, the answer is yes.

As a Jamaican, I would have to say the oxtails here miss the mark. The customer service is good, I was greeted and treated respectfully. I had to wait a minute for the food but I was okay with it. The food was piping hot but was not what I thought it would be. The rice was not fluffy like usual rice and peas. It’s almost as if it is fried rice and the beans were just added to it. Didn’t have a lot of moisture to it either. I ended up throwing away the rest of the rice. The oxtail was hit and miss. A few pieces were VERY chewy and some were a little tender. All the pieces had A LOT of fat on it. I know oxtail usually does but this was a lot even for oxtail. The pieces weren’t very meaty either. The cabbage was okay. It wasn’t overcooked and had okay flavor. I would give the oxtails a 4/10. They definitely aren’t Jamaican oxtails. More like Haitian or Cuban oxtails, because had more of a reddish color to them

Everything was great. The food was outstanding; we sampled a wide variety of dishes, all of which were fresh and delicious. Your staff were professional, courteous, and well-informed. The oxtail was particularly impressive, perfectly prepared, and elegantly presented. It was a truly great experience. Thank you, Chef Mike.
