I consider myself a Taco connoisseur having grown up in Chicago for 30 years. These are hands-down the best Mexican street tacos you will find anywhere in Broward or Palm Beach County. I eat tacos 1-2/week, trust me.

The meat is delicious, the tortillas are perfect, and their homemade hot sauce is literally fire!

To top it off, it’s Veteran owned and the couple running the joint are extremely friendly.

Get here asap!

Honestly, the vegetarian tacos and tortas at this place are absolutely incredible. As a vegetarian, I’m constantly thinking about where I can eat, but this restaurant completely blew my expectations out of the water! The flavor of every single ingredient is amazing; you can truly savor it in every bite.

On top of the fantastic food, the staff is exceptionally polite, kind, and warm. They always greet you with a genuine smile. I recommend this restaurant to everyone—vegetarian or not! Thank you so much for an amazing experience.

Best tacos in Fort Lauderdale !!!
You might go to Las Olas, you might go to a specialty restaurant, but if you want real down to earth authentic tacos, this is the place to go. I’ve driven by it for 20 years – – finally stopped – – and will definitely be going back. The owner is extremely friendly and and it is a family business with recipes going back generations. The tacos are the flat soft tacos with an incredible flavor and packed with tons of meat. You can’t miss out on this one — you have to go!

They did not disappoint. I ordered 3 carne asada tacos & a drink. I was full after 2 tacos. Taco size is bigger than most. No sauce needed. Taco shells were soft with a crisp. Meat very well seasoned. Fresh toppings. Friendly & welcoming staff. Place is very clean.
Will definitely return.

If you’re looking for authentic mexican food and amazing salsa…. this place is it!

The food was delicious! I ordered tacos al pastor and tortas de carne asada to go. My daughter said the torta is the best she has had since living in Florida and she is a tough critic.

The owners are very welcoming and it was a pleasure to talk to them.

My only regret is not discovering this place sooner. We’ll be back!

Tacos were awesome. I tried Steak, Chicken and Al Pastor. All of them were great. Just to know what to expect: I waited almost 30 mins for the tacos, the place is pretty small and if too many people get in there it’s super crowded. Prices are decent.

Will definitely order ahead in the future.

I first tried Alegria close to 10 years ago when I visited from LA. Now I’ve been blessed to have my fair share of great tacos both in LA and Mexico but never had al pastor tacos quite like this. It’s been years since I’ve had them and often think about them while my mouth waters. Would gladly fly cross country if I could just to gorge myself on them again.

Alegría Tacos is a gem — plain and simple. From the second you pull up, you’re met with warmth, not just from the grill, but from the family running the show. These are the kind of people who treat you like you’re already a regular — smiling, generous, and clearly proud of what they’ve built.

Now let’s talk flavor. The al pastor? Unreal. Perfect balance of sweet and heat, with crispy edges that somehow melt in your mouth. The asada is bold and juicy, packed with smoky richness like it just came off a backyard grill in Mexico City. And the chicken — underrated until you try it. Tender, seasoned to perfection, and not just a throwaway option like at most places.

It’s rare to find a spot where you feel just as good after the meal as you did during. Alegría isn’t just serving tacos — they’re serving up pride, hospitality, and real-deal flavor that hits you right in the soul. We can’t wait to go back.

We live really close to this little gem, always wanted to try it and FINALLY made it there for lunch today. What a huge loss that we waited so long! Their food is so good. I ordered the 2 carna asada taco lunch special which came with beans and rice. My husband ordered the carnita taco lunch special. The meat was so flavorful and juicy. The rice was fluffy, the beans were topped with melted cheese. We ordered a side of chips and salsa. The chips were warm, crunchy and seemed freshly made. Absolutely amazing lunch…. We will not wait too long to return here to eat.
