Had a late lunch/early dinner with my husband and decided to try the new Volstead Proper that just opened up. It was truly the best restaurant experience we’ve had in Conway, the atmosphere was very classy and cozy at the same time. The service was amazing, truly no complaints. But the star of the show is the food, it’s really the best food I’ve ever had. I got the chicken noodle soup, and it tasted like biting into a smoked turkey leg at the Renaissance Fair. My husband got the Pork & Cheddar sandwich and said it was the best BBQ he’d ever had. I don’t even like pulled pork and I loved it! The potato skins were fire too, and their ranch is super yummy.
Not gonna lie to y’all, we went straight home and picked my mom and brother up and brought them up there so they could try it too!
They’re very affordable too, I hope they stay open for a long time. I feel like their location and building doesn’t really match their vibes, but I really hope people will look past that and give them a try. You won’t be disappointed!

The food is great and the atmosphere is so nice! The smoked chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had. The sides were all good, especially the greens! We had the potato skins appetizer and I could have eaten the whole plate. Delicious! The drinks are top shelf and the bar is beautiful. They have a great selection of Bourbon. The whole parking lot should be full every night. We have a true gem here in Conway. Support local!

So we heard mixed reviews on this new restaurant and we have been wanting to try it for a few weeks. So we had an impromptu date night on a Wednesday. I went ahead and made reservations last min and I am glad I did. The place was full and several people came in and left because they didn’t have any.
We ordered the salmon dip appetizer.
The salmon had good flavor, but needed a little more spice in my opinion. The only real negative about it was that it was watery at the bottom of the bowl. My guess is from the lemon juice. It just created a soggy texture.
The wife ordered garlic shrimp and she loved it. I looked up and she had cleaned her plate before I was halfway done with mine. She said the green bean and corn casserole were both had good flavor.
Smoked Prime Rib man was I really impressed with this cut of meat. It had great smoke flavor, it was tender, and cooked perfectly. This prime rib had to be one of the best I have personally had anywhere. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes a great piece of meat.
Mac N Cheese was good, creamy and you could tell it was homemade.
Bourbon black beans I could live without. It tasted like the bourbon needed to be cooked out of them just a little bit longer. It had a very bitter flavor to them.
Bread pudding was good and moist. I only wish they had a scoop of homemade ice cream to put on top of it. And maybe a bourbon cream sauce.
Overall it was a great experience and I am sure we will go again soon.

Wow, I’m so excited to have a new place in Conway! Four of us enjoyed dinner and everything was delicious ! We had the shrimp, the filet , red snapper and the ribeye. All were perfectly prepared and seasoned just right. The sides are equally good and I could make a meal of them. Our favorites were the mac&cheese, collards, green bean casserole and corn casserole. They were prepared like your mama made them. Probably not healthy but delicious! For dessert we enjoyed the peach fried pie and the bread pudding. Both very yummy and the bread pudding so big you can share .
I’d also like to say a kind word about the staff. Everyone we encountered was so friendly and very accommodating . They all seemed like they enjoyed their job which is such a nice change from most places .
I almost forgot to mention the bourbon and cocktails . They had a wide variety and it was fun to try some new things. We can’t wait to visit again !

Such a great new restaurant in Conway! This was our first visit but we will definitely return. Space is nice – quite an improvement from the previous burger spots in this building. Employees were super friendly – Braden was very helpful & attentive. Food was great quality. The chicken & cheesy corn casserole were my favorites but everything was satisfactory. Looking forward to visiting again!

Great to have something like this is Conway. The menu has so choices that look good. Looking forward to trying them all. The bourbon selection is pretty good. They have a few unique options and tough to find. You can build your own flight or pick from a few pre selected ones. Be sure to use the QR code to get the current selection. The house made cheese dip is pretty good though a few of the chips were chewy. The Brisket was ok but there are better options in town. (It was served with a steak knife). The BBQ Mac was really good and hearty but might leave the sauce on the side next time. That could be incredible with some beef burnt ends. For the sides the Cheesy Corn Bake was easily a favorite. They were out of a few things I wanted to try but for sure will be back. Be sure to make a reservation as they are staying busy.

We showed up on a Monday night and were blown away at the food and deal we received. On Monday night they do an extended Happy Hour until 6PM. Happy Hour includes a $5 old fashioned, 1/2 priced appetizers, 50 cent wings, and more! So we got 16 wings, potato skins, two old fashioned(s), and one margarita for $28 lol. You can’t beat that anywhere else! Heck you can barely get fast food for two for under $30, much less something as quality as this was and with 3 premium well made drinks! Service was great, bartender was spot on, food was primo! Hard to find good wings in Conway, these were spot on and I eat a lot of wings. Great size, great sauces and rubs, perfect crispnesses, with great ranch! I’m so impressed! If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out! Bourbon bread pudding is amazing! Added it on for $9.

My husband and I went for the first time last night. Everything was so good. We made it time for happy hour and got the .50 hot honey wings. They were some of the best wings I’ve ever had. Chicken was well seasoned and not dry. I also ordered the $5 HH old fashioned which was delightful. My Caesar salad was one of the best Caesar’s I’ve ever had. The dressing was fresh made and seasoned extremely well. For the entree, I ordered the salmon which came with wild rice, roasted tomatoes, and corn. It was pretty good. Finally, dessert was the bread pudding, and it was seriously one of the best bread puddings I’ve ever had in my life.
Love the vibes and the atmosphere here. This is a great spot for date night, and I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!
