The food was good! The risotto was really tasty, the lasagna and mushroom ravioli were both solid, and the other pasta dishes were enjoyable. The pizza crust was amazing, perfectly done, though I wish it had a little more seasoning.
Overall, it was an okay experience. I’d come back again, especially for the atmosphere and the front-of-house hospitality.
We have been at this Sorrentino’s for the dinner wine pairing evenings, and loved it. The food and service at those events is fantastic. This was our first time just coming to the lounge on a weekday. Thursday – half price wine bottle night is great. Food – not great. SOOOOO salty. The pizza crust was like a soggy cracker – only thinner than a cracker, not a wood fired pizza, no puffy rim on the crust (I was expecting the pizza like a Buco- which we go to a lot and love). Apps were okay; pasta so salty also. Service is adequate. After our meal arrived no one checked at all to see how it was… which unfortunately was not good.
The decor and booths are very nice. Hope the food improves to live up to the wine and decor.
For a place that offers large party gatherings, I am not sure why they don’t have a separate area so that the noise isn’t disruptive to the other patrons. We weren’t the only ones bothered by the noise.
As for the food, the majority of it was good, but the Ceasar salad was full of brown and wilted lettuce. We had to ask the waiter to take it off of the bill, which was a bit of a surprise. The food was a bit salty and the salmon was swimming in a pool of butter.
The service was mediocre and was most likely due to the large tables demanding the majority of the waiters attention. We ordered coffee, which was not hot, and we were never offered more. That’s a bad sign.
We will definitely not be returning, even though we live a few minutes away. It was disappointing.
I ordered the wine pasta special and it was a fantastic value. The presentation was beautiful and the flavours were perfect.
The only downsides were small but worth mentioning: my wine glass had been washed, but the oils from a previous lipstick mark were still visible, and the light fixture above our table could have used a dusting/cleaning. These are small details that can be easy to miss, but they are things the service team should catch when resetting tables or taking over their section for the day.
Other than that, everything was genuinely great. I’d happily come back, and I appreciate the attentive service and the quality of the food.
This is a photo of the gluten free croquettes they made for me at our last meal. They looked so similar to the regular ones I asked them to confirm with the chef who came out and told me how they were made!
I can’t say enough about how great they are at this restaurant!
The food tasted good. Quality and quantity was good too. Staff and service were pretty quick.
