I also tried the drunken udon noodles with chicken, and they were really good — well-balanced, nicely cooked, and satisfying. The place feels cozy and has more to offer on the menu, so I’d definitely like to come back and explore more dishes. Overall, a pleasant dining experience.
Totally different from their advertising pictures. SCAM is all I can say.
Not tasty at all, I don’t cook and I can make it taste much better myself.
It’s not just below expectation for a restaurant, it’s below family cook standards
Kai Soi was good, superb, and Patpong Chicken was a fusion (Chinese style chicken with Thai flavor) .
It’s a nice place to go. Our bill was $65 so so.
I recommend.
I ordered a combo fried rice and order of Crispy chicken wings. Which came out to $31 dollars which I already questioned why so expensive, I then got home and opened what was supposed to be the Crisoy chicken wings. It was a box of what looked like whatever little pieces of chicken they had left and just fried and put in a box. When I returned to show them & ask for actual chicken wings, the lady at the register tried to convince me that they were in fact wings, I expressed they are just pieces of chicken fried & that they didn’t even have bones in them & she stated “I’m not going to argue with you, those are pieces of the chicken” I asked for a refund if they weren’t willing to make me actual chicken wings & she stated “fine but the combo rice is fine so you can’t return that” I then offered to show everyone in the restaurant the “chicken wings” to get their feed back , which at that point she quickly changed her tune & offered the full refund. I will MEVER visit or order from Si Lom again! From them being overpriced, to trying to pass chicken scraps as chicken wings & then the absolute horrible customers service, if I could truly give them a zero star review I would!
We always kick off our meal with the fresh rolls, either tofu or shrimp with the peanut butter sauce an absolute favorite of ours. The shrimp in a blanket was also a reliable choice, though we always circle back to the fresh rolls. In soups, we’ve tried both Tom Kha and Tom Yum, the Tom Kha always steals the show with its perfect balance of coconut milk, lemongrass, cilantro, mushroom, tomato, and spring onion. And in entrees Pad Kee Mow and Thai Basil Fried Rice were our go-to entrees, and we even enjoyed their hot sake on one occasion. Each time, we left feeling completely satisfied, knowing we’d be back. The friendly, warm staff and the beautifully decorated, clean facility showcasing Thai culture always added to the positive experience.
However, our most recent visit was unfortunately a complete disappointment. Nothing tasted right. The fresh rolls and their usually perfect peanut butter sauce lacked their signature flavor. The Pad Kee Mow noodles and the Sriracha fried rice we tried were all missing complete flavor profile. It felt like a totally different kitchen, and we didn’t enjoy a single bite. While the staff and ambiance remain excellent, the food quality on this last occasion was a stark contrast to our many cherished past experiences.
This restaurant is nestled in the Oak Lawn area and I found it after looking for Some of the Best Thai Food in Dallas. We park in an underground parking garage to go in so it could be difficult to find off the street.
We ordered the crispy spring rolls and they were nice and crunchy. They give you five with your order.
At this visit I ordered a modified plant based Yellow Noodle. I took away any soy or meat and added celery and broccoli. Instead of celery they used the celery leaves which was a nice change.
Their spice levels range from 1 to 5. I asked for the 3 spice level. It wasn’t hot at all. I didn’t notice that it wasn’t spicy until I was almost done with my dish. That’s how good it was. Next time I’ll order the 4 spice level.
My husband ordered the Shrimp and Chicken Basil and he said it was super flavorful.
Another great experience…
The service was good—our server got everything right with the orders, which is always appreciated. However, there was a noticeable sense of hurry, and they seemed a bit nervous, avoiding eye contact at times. It didn’t impact the quality of the food, but a little more attentiveness could enhance the overall dining experience.
Now, onto the food! I ordered the Pad Thai and fresh salad rolls. The Pad Thai was solid—flavorful and well-prepared. But the true standout was the salad rolls. They were absolutely delicious, especially paired with their peanut sauce, which I couldn’t get enough of!
Overall, Si Lom Thai Asian Fusion offers a great dining experience with a calming environment and flavorful dishes. While a little refinement in the service would make it even better, it’s definitely a place worth visiting for some excellent Thai cuisine.
