First visit. My wife worked at this location back in the day, she was really excited to bring me.
Came for a late lunch. We were the only ones in the restaurant.
Service was pretty rough. Didn’t start off well. Nothing goes you confidence that your meal is going to be good like the waitress not writing it down and having to turn around and come back to ask you what you wanted to eat. So I’d say a pretty rough start.
My wife ordered a drink, so did I, mine was a fountain soda, came out quick. Only my wife’s drink was in a bottle but it was obvious that our waitress forgot about it because she proceeded to sit down and get on her phone, my wife had to go out and ask for our drink.
Now it took like almost 20 minutes for our 10” pizza to come out, which I found really odd when I saw it and realized it’s a pretty thin pizza.
So naturally, what happens with thin pizza when it’s been sitting out for awhile? It gets cold. In our case it was maybe room temp. I honestly didn’t think too much of it because it tasted fine, but then we received our 2 Togo pizzas that we ordered for my wife’s parents a few minutes before we left, we opened the boxes and they were EXTREMELY hot.
So considering we saw the waitress sitting on her phone checking Facebook, it’s pretty safe to assume that she lost track of time and our pizza was sitting in the ready area before it came out and either there are no warming lamps for the pizzas (because it’s pizza there should never be a warming lamp) and/or it sat there for the entire 20 minutes just cooling down to room temperature.
As a final note, put napkin holders on the tables. It makes no sense to me why this Resturant pre-rolls their silverware into a single napkin when they only have 1 item on the menu that specifically requires a fork and knife, the lasagna. Perhaps 2 items, I assume they had a salad section. 90% of the business would appear to be pizza, with a pizza that isn’t messy by design, so how many customers will use a knife and fork, I wouldn’t think a large amount.
Maybe we’ll give it a second chance. But that was a pretty rough first impression. If I wanted bad Pizza, I’d just go to a chain place and pay $10.
My reviews are solely based on flavor and nothing else, however, I have to advise that if you are buying pizza for more than two people, then I highly recommend multiple. The medium sized pizzas are quite small and you might be left hungry since they are thin crust.
The decor is great, the service is good and the food is just fabulous! Everything I’ve tried here is top notch and the amount of food for the cost is a real winner!
The lunch menu is especially a great bargain! A full size salad and sandwich for $12…enough to feed 2 ppl easily!
The antipasto appetizer could also feed 2-3 ppl as a meal and is so inexpensive!
Don’t skip out on the dessert spumoni either! It is the best around- tastes fabulous and is a large 3 scoop serving plenty to share.
Did I mention everything tastes fabulous?!?!
One of my fav restaurants in all of El Paso!!
P.S. The only down side was stinky and unkempt restroom.
Ordered again my favorite No.8 ARUGULA & PROSCIUTTO, asked for extra Prosciutto, you know what, they served whole another 3 giant pieces of it, and the waitress said, “we’re not joking “.
I fully agreed, they’re not joking, love it!!!
Wow! My sweetheart and I arrived early enough to run on to Robert, the owner, in the parking lot. He was congenial and welcoming. I would give the atmosphere an one hundred and eleven if I could.
Farah was our server. Lovely, helpful, smart and witty. We ordered the charcuterie board. One of the most adventurous and tasty experiences. The gnocchi with short ribs was exceptional. We live in Dona Ana. An hour and a quarter drive. After last night’s meal it doesn’t seem that far.
