The service was very friendly and I like the warm biscuits they provided. The food we got was good and fresh, but not overly flavorful. Id like to try something else next time.

Came for brunch on a Saturday to find out it’s only served on Sunday. Our mistake obviously, but could be more clear on the website. Or have it on Saturday, too! We were the only ones in there until almost 1. That said, the waitress was fantastic. Instead of being upset at a slow start she was friendly, accommodating, efficient and just all around attentive. Even when she got busy as we were paying she made a point to say thank you and wish us well. She made me husband a tartar sauce from scratch which he really enjoyed. Since there was no brunch, the menu went right to dinner. Again, our fault, but wish there were more afternoon items available. The ahi tuna sandwich and coleslaw left a bit to be desired. Not much flavor on either item, and the roll takes away from anything the seared tuna has to offer. Everything was fresh and looked appetizing, was hot, accurate, etc. Just fell flat in flavor. One of the nicer options in town, not our favorite but would try again another time.

Stopped in before a show at Maryland theater. It was very busy and we did not have reservations so we ate at the bar
Friendly service. Food came out pretty quickly
Nice size portions
What we ate:
CAJUN ELVIS BURGER: Blackened angus beef topped with cheddar
cheese, peanut butter, siracha BBQ sauce,
bacon and crispy onion straws
HANGOVER BURGER: Angus beef topped with cheddar cheese

My rating rationale

The food was superb! The entrees were tasty and had good, large portions! I got the “crab madame”. I was thoroughly impressed! My wife got the chicken and waffle sandwich. The chicken was dry, but the flavor pairing was good! We were slightly underwhelmed by the size of the crab pretzel app. However I understand seafood is expensive, and the flavor was good! Service was pretty good. We got ur food quickly! We could have gotten drink refills a little quicker, but they did seem so be slightly understaffed. So I understand! We will go again!

I’ve been to Bulls and Bears several times over the years and I’ve always enjoyed the food. The selection has always stayed fairly broad. It’s nice to go to a place and see new items every so often. This time I tried the Szechuan Short Ribs. The dish was well presented although it had a little too much fat on it. My wife was the winner of the night. She ordered the chicken Baltimore and it was delicious. The Old Bay cream sauce was just right. A lot of things made with old bay and end up being too salty. A chicken was lightly breaded and deep fried but still juicy. We both had a side of broccoli that was good and while I had a side of rice she had a side of mashed potatoes which went great with the old bay cream sauce. My only advice would be to put a little more crab on top. Both of our meals were $24 a piece. If you’re not familiar with bulls and bears they have a nice layout inside a cool building but still have outside seating on the sidewalk. Our server did an awesome job. He was truly working his tail off since he was the only server working on a Saturday night. Luckily we went early. I feel bad for the guy.

Solid beer selection and decent menu. I was tempted by the poke bowl (it was meh) but all the dishes had generous portion sizes. Atmosphere is chill and staff is helpful

This was our first time at this wonderful restaurant. The server was amazing and the service supreme. The sous chef also came to our table to see if everything was good. You cannot go wrong checking out the food and service. We will definitely be back

We were visiting in the area and stopped by Bulls and Bears for lunch. The service was quick and our waitress was super friendly.

For my drink, I got the Peach Moscato Sangria and loved it. We started off with the crab dip as an appetizer which was the perfect temperature and had a great flavor. As for entrees, my fiancé got the chicken and waffle sandwich which he enjoyed. I took a bite of the waffle and it was very tasty. As for the bacon jam burger, I was left disappointed. The “jam” itself was more like a salsa than a jam? It tasted like a thin layer of chunky salsa on top of the burger instead of a more traditional jelly/jam that I’m used to. I also just didn’t love the flavor of it that much.

Overall, the food and service was good. If we are in town again, we’d consider revisiting.

Service was great and place was very clean. Food was good but the mushroom truffle flatbread was supposed to have shaved truffles and truffle oil and it had neither so that was disappointing. Mashed potatoes had perfect texture but were underseasoned. Greenbeans were very good.

Bulls & Bears in downtown Hagerstown has been one of the best restaurants in the area! The remodeled section of this building is amazing! They have private back rooms for dinner parties as well as two other spaces to accommodate larger groups. But most of all the food is awesome and most times one of a kinda!
I don’t know how COVID has affected them but I’m glad to see they are still around now. There is a parking garage attached to the building and an entrance directly to that floor so you do not need to deal with the weather.
Until COVID shut our world down this was the place we had a family/friends Christmas dinner. Forty plus people in a private separate section that is bigger than some places I’ve been. Honestly never got to know the staff enough to know them by name but always felt at home.
If you live within an hour drive of this place I is an absolutely must! Make the drive and check it out! If you live further and want to just get out and try something new or are passing through… I would recommend you stop in! It is not hard to get to off of i70 or i81 in Maryland.
Great Food, Great Bar, Great Atmosphere!!!
