I had a Christmas smothered omelette with queso and guacamole… SO GOOD! The chile is the perfect heat (I’m New Mexican, I like it hot!) and the flavors were perfect.

My wife and I recently drove to Hatch, NM from Albuquerque to buy some red chili. We planned on getting lunch in Hatch. We asked a local for a recommendation.
They happily suggested the Oepper Pot.
We are glad they did!
Amazing New Mexico style food, great service, perfect location, and friendly prices.
We will return!

The 2 waitress/hostess/bussers were hustling on a busy Memorial Day so waiting about 10 minutes for a table wasn’t a big deal. The food was ok. We live in North idaho & we were expecting better than we get up there. It wasn’t bad, I ate all mine. It just wasn’t OMG THAT’S SO GOOD. My wife said her chimichanga was good but she’s had better. Overall we left disappointed that the food wasn’t better

Stopped in for Breakfast. We enjoyed the Hatch Valley Omelet and the Steak and Eggs. The portions were huge. Definitely recommend if your in town.

This place is a classic small town, really good restaurant. I knew it was going to be good after being in there for less than 5 minutes. It was all locals, and they all knew each other. When they brought the chips and salsa I knew they weren’t playing here at all. Many Mexican restaurants bring a bland salsa – this was zippy and freshly made. The menu was diverse but not so big they couldn’t do everything well.
I had the Pepper Pot burrito, which had been featured on the Travel Channel. The waitress sad it was her favorite, so I went with it. It came smothered with red and green sauce, one on one end, one on the other. The pork inside was excellent, and the combination of that and the cheese and sauce made this literally one of the best burritos I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve eaten A LOT of burritos. The portion size was extremely generous. My wife had the quesadilla with chicken and it was huge, and also excellent. She got the “Christmas Sauce” on the side, which is a red and a green, and excellent.
The people at the table next to us got a chili bowl and a taco plate. Both were massive, and this little old lady knocked down that taco plate like a sumo wrestler. I told her I was impressed and she told me she never leaves a bite when she eats here. The service was also very good – the waitress we had was awesome. I live about 90 minutes from Hatch, NM, and I would drive that just to have the burrito again! The prices were also VERY reasonable, unlike some of the tourist-trap places.

I always make a point of stopping at the Pepper Pot anytime I drive through Hatch, NM. Why? Because of the delicious authentic New Mexican food, cute outdoor patio dinning, and friendly service. This trip I ordered the steak and enchiladas for lunch and was amazed at the quantity and quality of the steak in particular—cooked just right and oh so flavorful. I can’t wait for my next trip there!

First time eating at Pepper Pot. Loved it. We ordered the kids taco plate (1 taco, refried beans, rice), a ground beef burrito with a side of refried beans, and 2 carne asada & avocado burritos. All burritos had a side of their green chile sauce for semothering. Everything was wonderful.

The food was pretty good and authentic. We had to wait 40 minutes while our waitress ate and then we finally went up and asked for our bill. That was about the only negative thing.
