Definitely a location with some of the best views in Jackson NH. But, it pains me to say, the food was not what you’d expect when you walk in and see how beautiful their dining room is. Amen for exceptional service. And when asked if my meal was okay, I did not have the heart to tell the lovely waitress that it falls very short and the chief should be embarrassed to serve the cut of meat that he did, presenting it as a rib eye. And a rib eye at $42.00. The taste and texture was that of chuck and flavor very salt forward from either the gravy or whatever was used for a tenderizer. And way too much fat for the price tag . Also, come on, who puts gravy on a $42.00 rib eye. The specialty drink was just okay but not artisan worthy. The best part of the meal was definitely the dessert. My glass of on the huge farmers porch with the stellar views brought down my heart rate and slapped a smile back on my face. Maybe it was just an off night since it was Labor Day weekend, so I’ll give this place another try. I did let the inn owner that made the recommendation know because I didn’t want it to reflect badly on them since I’ve been frequenting their inn for over 12 years.

Unfortunately the food just wasn’t very good, which is a shame because the service was good and the atmosphere was comfortable. We got the French onion soup and lobster bisque to start. Onion soup was actually good, but the bisque wasn’t what I’d call bisque; it had one small piece of lobster. (In fact the table next to us got the lobster ravioli and the cream sauce on it looked a lot like my bisque.) For entrees we got lamb shank and short rib. Unfortunately both meats were dry and bland, and the accompanying veggies, gravy, and mashed potatoes were unremarkable. My wife sent back the lamb shank and, to the manager’s credit, they comped it for us and she got fish & chips instead, which was fine (fries were crispy!). The meat entrees just didn’t feel worth $38, and the whole meal didn’t feel $100 worthy (we also had a beer and a mocktail, which were good).
I’m no chef, but having made lamb shank and short rib at home a number of times, I think they need to be prepared a different way than whatever is being done currently, so that they come out more flavorful. Again, the staff were very accommodating and apologetic, so props to them, but I think the food needs a redo or they need to stick with more pub/tavern style fare.

This review is being left after contacting the restaurant and making them aware of our experience with absolutely zero effort on their part to bring any resolution. I would steer clear of Eagle Landing.

We had a 6:15 reservation. When we arrived we were sat promptly. Once seated it took 15 minutes for us to be acknowledged by the waitstaff. After receiving our drinks, there was another long pause before our food order was taken. The appetizer arrived and was fine. Then the long wait started again. My wife had ordered mac and cheese with a salad and I had ordered the lobster ravioli.

When my ravioli arrived it looked like it had been under a heat lamp for way too long and was quite tough. My wife’s Mac and cheese arrived before her salad. Drink refills, not without asking. Again, this was taken with a grain of salt. You never know when growing pains are happening.

The straw that broke the camels back was our waitress’s attitude. We felt like we were bothering her. At the end of the meal my wife had taken 3 bites of her Mac and cheese enough to decide it wasn’t for her. At this point we were ready to go but we already knew getting the check was going to be a problem (which it was). My wife ended up flagging the hostess down who found our waitress to get the check. Our waitress brought the check and began to take the plates away. Never once asking if everything was ok or if there was any issue with the food since it was obvious my wife had barely touched hers.

The veranda at the Eagle Landing Tavern has one of the best settings for a romatic lunch or dinner in all of the White Mountains! The food is good, the prices reasonable and the service generally excellent. We did have a bit of a hiccup in dinner service while dining there the first time, but the restaurant manager and staff, includig Zara at the hotel front desk, couldn’t have done more to apologize and make the situation right. Looking forward to returning again soon!

Food was not good other than the salad. My salmon was overcooked, dry and had no flavor. The rice was ok. The vegetables were so bad; they literally tasted and smelled like they were cooked in ocean water…fishy and very salty. Definitely would not come back here.

Our visit to Eagles Landing Tavern was nothing short of unforgettable. From the breathtaking views to the impeccable service and delicious food, it’s truly been one of the highlights of our trip. A heartfelt thank you to Ayden and Abby for their exceptional hospitality — they went above and beyond to make our experience special. If you can, reserve a spot on the veranda; the small deposit goes right toward your bill, making it more than worth it for such a stunning setting.

Old, old fashioned, beautiful interior, beautiful virews, very clean, ample parking, very close to Mt. Washington Pinkam notch, if you want to hike up, auto road if you want to drive up (pricey), then there is the Cog Railway, if you want to ride up (also pricey).

One of the most surreal dining experiences of my life. The restaurant is in an old function room (“the carriage house”). I am not joking when I say that I honestly believe they do not have a stove or oven. Seemingly all the food is prepared in a microwave. My wife’s lobster bisque tasted like canned slop. Then they charged her $30 for a plate of lobster ravioli with the chewiness typical of microwaved food – and the sauce being the same “bisque” slop! Fortunately I had a beet salad. Canned beets, natch, but the greens weren’t bad. Sadly the butternut squash pieces were just thawed straight from a frozen bag and tasted disgusting. I’m going to give it 1.5 stars. At least we didn’t get food poisoning.
