Toyoda Sushi is a hidden gem and lives up to the online hype. The sushi is very fresh, portions are huge and great for sharing. There can be a wait sometimes, so I usually come right when they open. Note: no credit cards — cash, Zelle, and Venmo are accepted.

Always a favorite spot to eat when we visit Seattle. It’s a small family owned restaurant that serves high quality sashimi.

I ordered the nigori sake while my partner ordered the house hot sake. We were served hot miso soup and a cold noodle salad. It was a rainy day so both were comforting, I love that the cold noodle salad had pieces of apple or pear , it gave it a nice sweet crunch to the dish.

We also ordered the chefs choice sashimi assortment, creamy scallop maki and the ikura with quail egg, as well as a bowl of rice.

We didn’t order many dishes but everything was plenty. We loved the creamy scallop maki, fresh, simple and delicious. Raw scallop has become one of our favorites, it was also included in our sashimi assortment as well. The mackerel was also one of our favorites as well. Surprisingly, the salmon was our least favorite sashimi cut.

It’s always a treat for us to come back to this restaurant.

Wonderful high quality sushi, and very attentive servers, its a great hidden gem and worth the trip if you aren’t near it! The sushi was perfect and the katsu was good. The free starters were also so so amazing! I also attached the full current menu below as its hard to find updated ones online 🙂

Only downside was at the end of service as I put in my payment to their venmo I asked a staff member (not one of our servers) if I had the correct phone number and they confirmed, but then pointed out that the transaction did not have a tip on it. I let them know that in the venmo transaction, I made a note that I would be leaving a cash tip. This was unfortunate— tips are not mandatory and are to the patrons discretion. I still left 20% gratuity, but felt this interaction was tactless— especially in front of my guest on a special occasion.

Other than that odd moment, the establishment overall was beautiful and the food was great!

Wow where to begin. This family owned gem of a restaurant. From beautiful preparation of the food to the tasty and versatile menu the food will keep you coming back alone. But the people who run this the Toyoda’s are simply amazing. When my mother passed away last month Yuki the owners son brought me a platter of sushi when I couldn’t even get out of bed let alone my house in general to get food. This place deserves all the success in the world. 10/5 stars.

The sushi and nigiri were so fresh and well made. The prices are definitely on the higher side (I’ve never paid $30 for a bowl of udon before) but the quality was excellent, and everything was delicious. The service was great, all the servers were attentive and friendly. We had a great experience.

Highly recommend! Both my wife and I each had our own Chef’s Selection for dinner, which was a very generous assortment of various sushi. Our favorite was the fatty tuna – melted in our mouths. Objectively, this wasn’t the best sushi we’ve had but it definitely stands out – especially since they give you FAT cuts of quality fish. It’s also an authentic, family-owned joint. The family was SO nice.

Note: they take Venmo, Zelle, or cash for payment.

Homey restaurant run by a lovely family that makes you feel sooo welcome. Such a great vibe, legit skilled chefs with the super friendly owner commanding the sushi counter. At first it looks pricey but OMG the portions and quality justify the price.

One of my new top sushi spots in Seattle, for sure!

We visited Toyoda Sushi for the first time on a Saturday evening. We arrived around 5:30 pm and were promptly greeted and seated. The service was fast and friendly eventhough the restaurant was almost full, no empty plate was left on the table for long, water was refilled and we were asked if everything was fine. The food was fresh and tasty! We had some warm starters, then rolls and nigiris with sake and tempura ice cream for dessert. We also had a nice conversation with the owner and we will hopefully be back soon for more sushi!

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Lake City area. A family owned restaurant serves high quality sushi and other kinds of Japanese food. Services are excellent too. Highly recommend if you like sushi. Please pay attention that reservation and card payments are not available. Street parking is hard to find availability, but you can find a big parking lot behind of the Panda Express.

Decent place to get sushi in North Seattle. Super friendly service with complementary miso soup and a salad of some sort. For the same price of a sushi spot in downtown Seattle or Capitol Hill, I have noticed that this place is pretty pricey, especially if they are preferring Venmo or Zelle for a payment. Besides that turn off, the food was OK, I would rather go to Momiji instead.
