Calimary was absolutely perfect. Can’t say more then that.
The stake was perfectly cooked.
The chicken was great solid cook on this dish.
The asparagus was neglected.
The mash potatoes was decent but for the price I was expecting something a bit more elevated.
They came out a bit cold and lumby.
The sweet bread was unique. It was like eating dessert and it came out cold. Not sure if this was intended or the way it was supposed to come out.
There were lots of little ant all over our table and booth as well and nats flying around.
Our server was perfect. She knew exactly when to come by and when to chat. She made the experience a lot more enjoyable.
We had the best drinks ever. The Nauti Rita, Minty Melon, and Sun Kissed were all amazing and super refreshing. Honestly, I would go back just for the cocktails alone.
The East Coast oysters were the best I have ever had, so fresh and flavorful. For entrees, the chicken sandwich was delicious and perfectly cooked, and the blackened shrimp tacos were so good with great seasoning. My only small wish is that the taco shell held together a little better because it fell apart pretty quickly, but the flavor absolutely made up for it.
The staff was wonderful, friendly, and attentive throughout our meal. Overall, I would definitely recommend The Boatyard and will absolutely be returning.
The vibe and atmosphere are right, and the outdoor space is very nice. Unfortunately, valet was a mess. I ended up sitting in my car, just one row in, for quite a while before the valet attendant finally put up a sign saying valet wasn’t available. Thankfully, there is plenty of public parking, so we were able to find a spot shortly after.
The food was just okay. The portions felt small for the prices and assumed calibar of the menu and some of the dishes were a bit strange. One dish arrived in a bowl sitting on rocks. I understand the idea of decorative presentation, but it was a little confusing and definitely not something you would want to make the mistake of trying to eat.
The highlight of the night was dessert, which was a huge peice of cake, and we actually enjoyed it.
The staff were friendly and generally professional, although our server seemed like he might have been new or still in training. He was a nice guy, so we gave him the benefit of the doubt. I’d advice you get rid of the bathroom attendant. It makes things awkward and honestly strange.
Considering the drive from our hotel in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and the overall experience, we probably would not return.
