I went here for a work dinner and enjoyed it. The service was great and I like the atmosphere. I would recommend giving this restaurant a try. I like sweets and loved the bread pudding.

Adjacent to the former Oracle headquarters in Redwood Shores, Mistral Restaurant and Bar emerges as a concealed culinary gem.
Mistral, a charming waterfront establishment, offers an exceptional array of creative dining options, encompassing steak, lamb, and seafood. Their Paella stands as a culinary masterpiece that must be savored. Their French Onion soup and octopus salad are unparalleled. The establishment also boasts an extensive wine list and a diverse selection of cocktails. Notable among these are the espresso martini and the bacon old fashioned. The espresso martini is an exceptional experience, surpassing any I have had previously.
The bartenders, Antonio, Mike, and Britney, are exceptional individuals who have cultivated a profound passion for their craft. Engaging in a conversation with Antonio was an enriching experience, as he shared his extensive knowledge and expertise in wines and whiskey. Antonio’s deep understanding of the subject matter was truly impressive.
Despite the presence of other establishments, Mistral provides a unique sense of belonging. Upon entering the establishment, guests are greeted by Gin. Gin consistently ensures that patrons are well-cared for. This provided a welcome respite after a challenging week, and I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with individuals like Antonio, Mike, Gin, Britney, and all their staff. Their dedication to their craft and genuine interest in their customers have garnered them a loyal following.

Our overall experience at this restaurant wasn’t pleasant. The food (2 starters and 2 main courses) was below average, especially the $45 main course of Halibut. Which was overcooked, even the manager agreed with us. The service was slow and they forgot our soup. The only thing was positive the manager gave us a discount on the bill for the overcooked Halibut, which was nice of him.

Everything about this restaurant was a great experience. The place was clean, and our waiter was awesome. The staff also worked as a team in bringing and cleaning up our food. The food was fresh and delicious. I really enjoyed my grilled New Year steak 12 oz. Try it out, you won’t regret it! We also had dessert, and that was really good as well. It’s called warm bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. I recommend making a reservation.

Food is delicious, fresh, and comes in large dishes. First server was attentive, funny, and nice. Our 2nd server didn’t come to our table to check in on us and even stood there while we signed our check and decided tip

Highly doubt the filet mignon was dry aged as the menu states. I have had more tender chuck steak. In addition, the dish was overly salted. The scallops, pizza, and service were good. Although the scene was nice, there was a loud laughing hyena at the adjacent table. The ones that enjoy this place the most are the ones that are inebriated, so come tipsy and you’ll enjoy yourself.

First of all I should say they charge 5% extra for the employee’s health. And they call it San Mateo mandatory. People are not happy with that , some people don’t want to pay the waiters or waitresses the tip but that is not their fault. The food was good. We had steak and seafood fettuccine. The patio is very hot, with two fireplaces nice but is very hot . They have heaters all over the patio. We spent $150 with tips. We asked our waitress Arita to turn off the heater on top of us

A truly great dining experience. Very nice atmosphere, not too loud, fine music. Jaques, our server, was always on top of things, but never rushing did was great. Grilled octopus, scallops and gulf shrimp, Phyllis wrapped salmon, and Bailey’s bread pudding. A perfect evening. Thanks, Mistral
