Here is the spot for seafood lovers. Many clean and fresh items on the menu. I had these lovely mylor shrimps. Its so fresh and delicious.
I detest heavily creamed seafood with basic garlic bread- u that get around in the UK- and that masks the mediocre quality. Thankfully I came here. I had oysters 10/10. Gurnard 10/10. Chowder 10/10 and Mylor shrimp 90/10.
The aesthetic of the interior is not this forceful nautical theme that pretends you are on a ship stranded on some wet rocks.
Every ingredient is intentional. I really appreciate having served the shrimps whole. I Know many people are scared of seafood, but those people love chicken tenders and those people arent found here. I also dont like chicken tender people.
I will come here next week and request a 5L bucket of Mylor shrimp and get my lifetime supply of minerals from the shrimp shells.
The service was cosy and friendly.
I cant speak on the beers as I dont drink it nor have an understanding to say anything about it, but it looks great to me.
We sat down at around 6pm on a Tuesday and it was very quiet at that point but soon filled up.
The vibe/atmosphere is very cozy and intimate, it being a cellar setting.
Service was exceptional and friendly throughout, and the food was just incredible. We had a couple of specials that were great and the soused mackerel on sourdough was outstanding. And whatever you order, you can have lovely Verdant beers alongside.
On the whole, if you have any interest at all in seafood or beer, this place is absolutely a must to visit.
The service is friendly, relaxed, not rushed. We felt really welcome & looked after.
The food is incredible! The fish finger butty is always brilliant, but most recently I also tried the soused mackerel and it was fantastic. So flavourful and interesting. I can’t wait to come back & try more dishes.
To drink I had a glass of the picpoul and it was lovely. It really complimented the fish.
Couldn’t recommend this place more!
The beer is what it’s all about and the ones we tried were good but the food really takes the price.
