I travel a lot. 300-500 miles a day, sometimes further and sometimes multiple states. I have this weird addiction to trying different Taco Bell locations and trying random slices of pizza from random places and even pizza chains because I’m curious how different places can make pizza taste in different ways. Even breakfast pizza.
What I want to say is for those complaining about how the pizza has changed over the years…. For starters our taste buds can change every 7 years. Second, things just change in general. It’s a natural part of life. Nothing stays the same. Human nature is to reject change, so think about your opinion and other factors before being so negative. These people work hard, and sometimes things aren’t exact, but to say something along the lines of, “it’s been great until this one time. So I won’t be back.” You’re only hurting yourself by missing out on this incredibly delicious pizza. Try to remember other good times, don’t hate something or someone for a single mistake. Besides, mistakes are how we grow. Feedback is great, but also, in reality, you’re a single customer. You’re not going to break their bank.
My review;
This is absolutely the best pizza I’ve ever had. I remember it tasting exactly this way every time my parents would buy it when I was a kid. This was a very joyous moment in our household because I grew up poor, and the price of this pizza is definitely worth every penny. So when we got Mr. Scrib’s pizza, it was like a holiday.
I moved out to Grand Rapids years ago, and I have tried damn near every pizza joint out here… people rave over Fricano’s, Vito’s pizza, and a few others, but imo they taste like generic pizza. I literally miss Mr. Scrib’s pizza every time I try a slice from a different place.
From Muskegon to Chicago to Pennsylvania, to Washington DC, I’m telling you from experience, there is not a better tasting pizza than Mr. Scrib’s. You literally cannot see the map of Michigan from all my pinged locations in Michigan alone on Google maps.
The crust has crispy edges, yet soft to chew. The cheese is just right and even sometimes crispy on the edges as well. The combination of how the flavors meld together is literally perfect. And what I find to be the best part is that when you add toppings, they aren’t skimpy. They actually add toppings to the pizza. All the other places charge the same price for toppings, but you get very few added ingredients for the price.
As for the price, these pizzas could sell for a lot more than $20 for a large 1 topping. I’m very tight with my money but if Mr. Scrib’s had a location in Grand Rapids. I’d part ways with $30 or more every Friday.
I usually buy a pizza to give away to a random homeless person once a week, (It’s my way of tithing). That being said, if Mr. Scrib’s was in Grand Rapids, you’d definitely be my guy! So you should think about a location out this way! But stay away from alpine, that street is a busy mess.
I want to say Thank You, Mr. Scrib’s, for being part of the good memories from my childhood and making such a wonderful pizza. I appreciate you and all of your employees and all of their hard work.
Your crust may be thin, but YOU rise above the rest.
We ended up finding a bone in one of the chicken tenders, and we also didn’t get the ranch, but that ruined my girlfriend’s appetite. The pizza was correct, but tastes like frozen dough and there’s little sauce and very greasy.
Regardless of overwhelmed business doesn’t mean that it’s our fault they shouldn’t take it out on us because they’re busy bye
Dough(crust) is tasteless, the sauce is so different (its not what it used to be), the cheese is so thin that it doesn’t even cover the pizza all the way, plus it’s burnt.
