This is, of course, an iconic place for any of us Michigan grads. I haven’t been there in years but we stopped by when we were in town for lunch. Very nice to see it uncrowned as when I normally go there it is on a football weekend when it is packed. Who knew that Steve Breaston was a fan of pulled pork and that Bo’s burger was with fried onions on sourdough rye bread. Very nice lunch spot and great stuff on the walls.

I came here for pizza, not a case study in how lazy and predictable human behavior can be—but here we are.

This place decided to name two menu items after figures tied to Michigan Wolverines football, clearly trying to piggyback on fame instead of doing even the most basic thinking about who they were elevating. One was the head coach, the other an assistant who later became part of a very public scandal involving poor personal decisions that affected real people—wives, kids, families. Fame doesn’t cancel out character flaws, and headlines have a way of catching up.

Now that those names have become uncomfortable, the restaurant has quietly removed the items after catching backlash. But that’s kind of the point: we’re so eager to celebrate success that we skip the research, skip the reflection, and slap a famous name on a product because it feels safe at the time. Until it isn’t.

Piggybacking works both ways. When the ship starts sinking, everyone riding along goes down with it. This restaurant learned that lesson the hard way. The pizza might be fine, but the decision-making was weak, and the retreat afterward just highlights how shallow the original move was.

Food for thought—literally and otherwise.

Great little place near campus. We popped in for a quick bite after checking out the campus/downtown area. Our family tried a variety of things from pizza to burgers, gyros, and more. The sweet potato fries were awesome! Everything honestly was delicious, only complaint by any of us was the pizza needed to be a little more well done, but it was still super flavorful. We’ll definitely be back.

Took my daughter out for a break from dorm food. She enjoyed the spinach pie and I had the simple salmon dinner. Both were delicious and the atmosphere is great for any Michigan fan. Food came quickly and waitstaff was attentive.

I recently moved to Michigan from Texas and this was my first time here. It was great because I was having lunch with my future brother in law. Our server Bree was outstanding and the food was fantastic

As a Michigan fan, you have to come to this place. It’s not as big as I had thought it would be but there are lots of great photos of Michigan celebs that have been there. The food was pretty good, although my wife wasn’t fully thrilled with hers, which was the Stuffed Grape Leaves. I had the bacon bbq burger and my daughter had the chicken kabobs, both were very good. We visited in February so there wasn’t a wait. I imagine this place is hopping on game day weekends.

I sat down and the restaurant was just about empty. There were only three other tables. We waited for half an hour, and no one even asked us what drinks we wanted, while attending to the three other tables very vigorously.
