I want to leave an honest review, considering the reviews are what allowed me to give this Lamar’s a shot.
I do not recommend this location. We were the very first customers on a Monday, waiting in the car 15 minutes prior to their opening because we came straight from getting off work. We could see they were rushing to get the store open on time- no problem, we appreciated it. We get inside once the store opens, and the employee was not welcoming or friendly at all.
In addition to that, the variety/selection of donuts was just not there or what you would expect from a donut shop. Could’ve been because they hadn’t got everything out yet- not sure.
Last, but certainly not least- the only option they had for donut holes were “cake”. Ordered a dozen cake holes, only to get all the way home and find they are gooey and raw inside! The store’s solution was a free replacement order of cake donut holes. No thank you.

I normally love this place. Get donuts here about every couple months. Quality has gone down No cinnamon hardly on twist. Their sprinkles donuts are kids flatter not as fluffy. Glazed seriously not as good or as fluffy. Idk if eggs prices fallen. I rather give a few more cents for better quality. Might go back one more time if same look go some place else. I already drive 20 miles so few more for good donuts is worth it. This is liberty lamars. Maybe other one in kc is still as good as they used to be.

Went to pick up donuts for my driver manager and ended up eating 5 donuts. Super delicious. I ordered 2 to taste and went right back in for 3 more. Lol. The blueberry and original glazed was really good.

This is a small family owned shop and it’s been a while since I had good donuts. The chain locations dont make good donuts like LaMar’s does. I got the chocolate dipped with a coffee and both very yummy and fair prices. They have a great variety of flavors and fun options.

My husband and I brought our niece and nephew to KC for the weekend. When my husband left for the day with my dad I decided to take the kids for donuts for breakfast.
I love trying out locally owned shops and found this one. When we arrived there was about 8 people waiting outside to go in so I figured the donuts must be pretty good.
When we got inside the store we were overcome with the delicious smell of some amazing donuts. When we finally made it to the counter I knew we would have trouble deciding what to get so, 13 donuts later we left!
Good thing we got there when we did because when we left there was 15 people in line outside waiting outside to go in!
Reasonably priced, delicious and very filling. Definitely will return here.

There is always a line which is your first clue at it being one of the best! Even though they are always busy, they keep the line moving! Their donuts are delicious and enormous! Today is National donut day (2 June 2023), and they were giving out free donuts! I went for the OG glazed donut for the free one. If you have one near you and haven’t tried it yet, you are missing out!

The best of the best! Their donuts are the best I’ve ever had! Their glazed are soft, have the perfect airiness and flakieness to them. They melt in your mouth. The chocolate covered are amazing as well. It’s hard to find chocolate covered where the chocolate doesn’t taste weird. Mouthwatering.

Lamar’s is a Kansas City classic for a reason. The donuts are good and consistent. You may find a donut that’s better somewhere, or a fancier place, but if you want a consistently good donut, and French Crullers (well, Wednesdays through the rest of the week,) then you’ve found your local donut chain.
