We love this place. The burgers are wonderful, the salads good and the view is incomparable if you like the water and boats. We love to sit outside and dream about our next boat while watching the marina activities. This time we dined with adorable green tree frogs decorating our umbrella. The service is outstanding too.

The shrimp po boys were pretty good. And the service was great, especially considering that they were short handed that day and a cook had to wait tables. She did a wonderful job! The restaurant could have used a little freshening up in cleanliness but overall a good experience.

First and second visit was a really great experience. Most recent visit, we were not acknowledged that we were there. Had to find someone to even get a glass of water. To make a long story short we were there almost two and a half hours before getting our food. When we did some of the food was barely warm and the rest was cold. We will not be back and we will be sure to tell our friends of our experience. Would have had a better meal and experience at Burger King . Really disappointed.

When my husband first brought me to this restaurant I was thinking “is he freaking kidding me?” But once we sat down and ordered our good I was highly empressed the service was great the place is nice on the inside and the outside seating is great at sunset. I ordered the fried shrimp and I was extremely happy with it I do believe that they serve the best shrimp in town. I have been back sevral times with friends and they have also agreed on how well the food and service was, the best part is that it’s not incredibly expensive. I love this place and can’t wait to go back soon.

Horrible experience. Very unfortunate considering I had made wonderful memories there many, many years ago. I used to be part of the staff, prior to the current owner and even my mother and sister worked there. I worked there while I was going to cosmetology school. So because of the wonderful experiences I had and the wonderful view I decided to have my daughter’s baby shower there outside. Well, it was freezing cold for one, and we didn’t expect that. With that, we were told we couldn’t come inside by our waitress. I then finally went to the bartender and told her we were paying customers and ordering food and that it wasn’t fair for us to sit outside. It was so windy, I could see the shower ending early because no one could stand the cold. So the bartender says that’s no problem come on in side. The waitress herself was obviously being told different things from different people. she was hot and cold the whole time, and we did not need any of her help anyhow. literally she brought out a plate of chicken fingers and a plate of fries. We had one pitcher of sweet tea, one pitcher of unsweet tea, one picture of Coke. So, four orders of chicken fingers and fries,3 pitchers, and one mixed drink cost $115! Once we got inside the waitress then proceeded to tell us we need to straighten up all the tables on the patio. Unrea! Place sure has changed! I will never Patron this place again.

People have to realize not everyone can be pleased. We are a very small venue on the Beaufort river with an awesome view and awesome staff. The only time I get “rude” as they call it is when I am dealing with a drunk customer and just holding my own. We have a very clean kitchen and have an a rating. Some of the comments that are detrimental are written by customers no longer welcome at the restaurant due to their inability to be able to socialize with out getting drunk. One actually has a no trespassing warrant against him. Come and make your own judgment not the view of a few inebriated people

Brought our new marine for a nice lunch after graduation. Slow service to be greeted/seated, to receive menus, for waitress to take our order. Ordered simple food (grill cheese, 2 BLT, 2 poboys, shrimp salad) took too long, grill cheese was cold. Waitress was kind but distracted (or restaurant has a manning issue). The cherry on top was service on Dixie plates, SOLO cups paired with proper stainless silverware. We did not feel we received value during this visit.

First experience with Back Porch was dysfunctional, wait staff were characters out of One Flew Over the Cookoo’s nest. Very entertaining. Second visit to Back Porch, was confrontational with the “owner”. After not getting dinner for an hour, we went to pay for the wine we drank. Owner came up to the bar and said “What!!” My husband told her we wanted to pay for the wine we drank. I said we’ve been here an hour and not gotten dinner, she said”well, I’ve been here for hours”. I can’t believe a business owner would be so rude and angry with customers. I’ll go back just to be entertained.

Excellent burger. Inexpensive drinks. Local crowd. Gorgeous waterfront view of the Beaufort River. A little divey, but it’s a good spot. I enjoy going to Back Porch. Great place to relax and have a beer with friends.

My wife’s $12 shrimp platter consisted of 6 average sized shrimp. Our son’s child shrimp plate had more than that. After finishing our meal and paying the bill we were enjoying the view with our family for about 5 minutes when the server told us she had to ask us to leave because it was her “bosses table” and she was coming in 15 minutes. Keep in mind it was about 2pm and this place is open until 11pm and there was only one other table with patrons at the time. We were told to “find a table” when we had walked in. There was nothing special about that table anyway. I should have taken my generous tip back. It was so unreal we just started laughing when she walked away. What a waste of a nice location, and I hate things being wasted…
