It was 1999 when China City opened its doors to the world and let everyone enjoy the delicious American-Chinese cuisine. And within a short period of time, people were raving for the cuisine more than ever. Our locations make sure that you get the best American-Chinese feeling as possible. The first location is on Whidbey Island in Freeland, which boasts a Victorian style building that is surrounded with Asian air, trees and Portuguese Laurels. The second location in Oak Harbor has everything you would need to make yourself at home and relaxed. Our newest location is in Mill Creek, a place to escape the bustle of the shopping center in our beautiful dining area.

Our meal was delicious! It’s been a while since I had good Chinese food. Good service and staff. It’s a little upscale without being to expensive. I would like better lighting for such a small font menu, which was very artful and laid out.

We had our first date at China City 8 years or so ago. We go back quite often, and I always forget to write a review. We’ve honestly never had a bad meal. Tonight, we had the Appetizer Sampler, Sing Chow Mei Fun, and Mushu Pork. Usually, we do the combo dinners for however big our party is, which is a great way to sample many dishes. Their drinks are also great – our favorites are the Old Fashioned and Lemon Drop. We had our rehearsal dinner there and have attended holiday parties there. Again, great food, wonderful service – no matter the size group.

Nice atmosphere. The food is absolutely overpriced. First, the brussels sprouts are $13. You get 5.45 ounces. They were burnt and greasy. You are paying $2.39 per ounce. I am appalled by this. The chicken curry is greasy, runny, and there was hardly any chicken in the dish. Your best bet, make your own curry and brussels sprouts. I won’t be back.

YUM! The crab cheese was the best we honestly have ever had. We got mandarin sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken, amazing. Amber was also a great server and was kind and was very attentive. We will absolutely be back.

I visited here for the first time for a business Christmas party, I wasn’t sure what to expect. When I drove in to park I was impressed with the building which looked like it was newly constructed and nice finishes you can tell they went an extra mile to leave a lasting impression. The inside was equally impressive and reminded of that of an upscale China restaurant you would visit in New York or New Jersey.
We had a a buffet style lay out that was brought straight to our table where the hostess orderd just about everything on the menu, so when I say I’ve tried almost everything on their menu, it’s quite true, literally. some of my favorites were the kung pao chicken and szechuan beef, as well as the hot and sour soup….all so yummy and delicious. No cutting corners here. The service was as friendly and prompt. We had a party of 23 and everything went smoothly. I highly recommend this place and I’ve been back twice, chicken wraps are definitely something to try as well

An excellent place to get some Chinese-style cuisine, or drop in on the lounge. Good staff, and very professional. Good happy hour menu also! Giant screen in the lounge area gives it a classy sports bar feel with Asian-themed food available.
