Stopped in on Valentine’s Day for the “famous” burger. To say we were more than not impressed is an understatement. Waited 45 minutes for a burger and tenderloin sandwich that was not even satisfactory. We upgraded our fries to onion rings for an extra 2 dollars each not worth it I had 4 onion rings in my basket. The top hamburger bun was ice cold like they pulled it straight out of the refrigerator. Your “cook” stands behind the bar prepares food with no hairnet, or gloves on. The waitresses don’t refill your drinks. We had to flag her down for our check. I mean absolutely a poor establishment. We come over from Northern Ky a few times a year and have eaten at Red on Main and that’s where we will continue to go from now on they have great service and food. Y’all could learn a thing or two about hospitality from their establishment.

Very small charming place. But only 2 or 3 people were working. 1 taking orders and bartending and the other making food. Took over a hour for 2 burgers and fries and some pepper cheese sticks. Food was average but certainly not worth the wait.

Four of us went in around midnight last night to order food and drinks. The server was too busy playing on her phone, and making phone calls to even acknowledge that we were even there. One of us in the group called her by name and asked for service. She looked at her rolled her eyes and turned her back to us and just kept on playing on her phone. Never got to order food or drinks so we all just walked out. Probably will be the last time we ever visit that establishment. Its sad too cause we love the food but the service there has went down so bad over the years it makes long standing customers not want to go back in there anymore.

What a wonderful neighborhood tavern! We came for the pork tenderloin sandwich and it did not disappoint. Great food, cold beer, friendly staff and reasonably priced. Stop in soon and often!

Awesome place to dine. We came to Madison for the day and ate lunch here. Fantastic customer service and food. I ordered their breaded fish sandwich. Absolutely delicious. Their onion rings were crispy and not greasy. We are definitely returning the next time we are in town.

We stopped in Madison for some antique shopping and came across Shipley’s and couldn’t have been more happy with our experience. The food was amazing! We had the pepper jack sticks and Small Shipley Cheeseburger and fries. Definitely worth the stop for lunch if you’re in town!

It seems if your a local it is a great place but if you not there is big attitude when our food was brought to us it was just thrown onto the table. People told us this was the place to come and we must try the hamburger. Disappointing! Never was asked how we wanted the burger cooked. Over cooked Burt on the bottom fries were bland. I’ve had better from the gas station. Atmosphere was buzzing with conversations and laughter from everyone. That was nice and the food and staff was very poor. Hope they do better.

Absolutely Incredible. This place is a blast and the burgers are fantastic. Well made drinks and the prices are late 90s, early 2000s. The staff was great for as overwhelmed as they were. They made sure we were well taken care of the entire time we were there. I can’t wait to go back again on our next trip.
