Highly recommended…I’ll be back.
The restaurant itself was spotless and well-kept, creating a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. It’s clear they take pride in their kitchen and the quality of their food. The only downside was the service, it wasn’t rude, but it felt disengaged, as if the server was going through the motions without much effort to connect or make the experience memorable.
That being said, Bengal Tiger Indian Restaurant delivers on flavor and cleanliness, and the food alone makes it worth the visit. If the service matched the quality of the dishes, this would easily be a five-star experience.
The place is open till 11 at night which worked great for my evening. I talked with the server about the restaurant and this place is unique in so many ways.
First of all let me tell you that the food is good. The saag paneer was amazing, panner pakoras were very good. The Malai Kofta was a little underwhelming – but we asked them to make it with absolutely no spice whatsoever and they did.
Now coming to why this is unique:
– Probably the only place with the Bangladeshi Menu.
– They have Goat (Kachi) Briyani. By Goat they mean goat and not Lamb.
– Every lunch hours, they have a buffet.
– Every last Sunday of month, they have dinner buffet
The buffet runs from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM, but many dishes were empty after 12:30 PM and weren’t refilled promptly. Some dishes were excellent like chicken tikka, samosa, salad, naan and rice while others were average like butter chicken and vegetables curries. However, the complimentary tea was fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. So, there is room for improvement in quality and service.
I recommend trying the lunch buffet, but make sure to arrive at the start.
Dine in: It can be really hit or miss. The owners son was super weird about letting us sit at a bigger table when the restaurant was EMPTY.
He basically said NO. And when I said…really? There is no one here…he relented. Food is usually good, but sometimes it’s like the chef is gone & its someone else cooking – very bland.
I’ll just go to Taste of India from now on.
