2 things I usually judge a good Mexican spot off – salsa and horchata. Both were kinda not good. Horchata tasted like Klass (iykyk) salsa was limited to the chili verde that came with the chili verde lol and habanero salsa (which was bomb). The pico de gallo that came with the chips was honestly what was no good for me, this is the start and it tasted bland. Albondigas was great! Flautas were decent. Caldo de pollo was hit and miss. Hit was the broth, miss was lack of veggies (like 1 piece of carrot, chayote, and zucchini for the entire bowl), and rubbery pollo. Chili verde lunch special was good, beans and rice were great.

Casa Alvarez has some of the tastiest Mexican food around. The albondiga soup had 6 meatballs with lots of vegetables in a savory broth. The crunchy beef taco is really crunchy. The beef is perfectly seasoned and covered with lettuce and cheese. Yummy! The chicken flats are humongous, crispy, and delicious.
The friendly service is an additional plus.

Good solid Mexican food and very good service. The chilies rellenos, crispy tacos (chicken) and beef encliladas were very good. The Mexican beer hit the spot. In restaurant service is very attentive. Restaurant is clean and neat inside and out. I’ve also ordered take out for a large group and the order was accurate, tasty and timely prepared. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was that there weren’t any unique items on the menu. Highly recommend for basic Mexican food.

I had some work in Rowland Heights so I was looking for a breakfast place when this place popped up. By work, I mean driving range. Great atmosphere where the music isn’t too loud! Thank you. Extensive menu with gringo breakfast choices. I had the Machaca. I use that as a barometer for the other dishes. Sounds easy but the meat must be tender. This was excellent with beans and potatoes. Great service and I want wait to try some additional offerings. Salasa was good but needed some extra heat. Chips were warm, I love that!
Their omelets include a ranchers sauce on top. I like that but some might not.

Really huge portions! O got the cheese enchiladas plate that comes with 3 enchiladas and there was no way I could finish it all. The enchilada sauce had a good rich flavor as did the beans and rice. I liked the dollop of sour cream on top along with the lettuce and tomatoes. The salsa was thick and chunky and the chips had just the right thickness and crunch. Service was very attentive and the dining room is nice and big with lots of soft padded booths. Highly recommend!

This is our go to place for Mexican food. Portions are good size and food is fresh and flavorful. You can’t go wrong ordering from here. We frequently do take out and they make sure they give you chips and salsa.

First time here. Tried there chilaqueles with pork Chile Verde and I have to say, very good. The salsa and chips they start you off with tells how good it is. Great service and decent prices as well.

The food is delicious and service is decent but a bit slow. You will have to wave down a server to get extra chips, a drink refil, napkins etc.. I highly recommend the Chile Verde, Chile Colorado, and the crunchy tacos. They also have a fantastic spicy salsa that you can ask for called Diablo Sauce. We come here often for family dinners and they have plenty of space for large parties.
