Last minute date night and we weren’t surprised to see the restaurant was fully booked. Luckily we snagged two seats in the bar and made it in time for happy hour. The space is sophisticated and beautiful without pretension. We were impressed with the bar staff who were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairing. Everything we ordered, from the meticulously crafted cocktails to the freshly made Agnolotti was amazing. One can tell that Chef Alex Dayton is passionate about balancing flavors and layering textures in every dish served. The Dough Room fits in well with Wayzata’s growing restaurant scene.

The name of this restaurant suggests the pasta should be the star of the show, and it absolutely is. It has great texture and is cooked to perfection. The flavors were interesting and well-balanced. I was very pleased with our pasta.
The salad we had to start was only OK, though. The staff was a little rough around the edges, but they haven’t been open long so I expect that might smooth out.
The value seemed appropriate to me. Wine for two, a salad, two pasta entrees, and a dessert came out to about $100.
Overall, this restaurant gets my recommendation, but has some room for improvement.

Had an excellent dinner at The Dough Room tonight. Our party of 5 was able to get seated pretty quickly and our waitress Ellie took great care of us all night, very helpful with answering questions and explaining the interesting items on the menu. I started out with a fantastic version of an Old-Fashioned that had Japanese Whiskey and port! Very, very good taste that didn’t have the same bite as your usual Old-Fashioned (so much so that I got two!). As an app the table shared bread and burata. The burata had really great flavors, from the aged balsamic vinaigrette to the roasted cherry tomatoes. But my main entree was the star. I absolutely enjoyed the cannelloni dish. It came stuffed with juicy, tender duck confit and was topped with the most delicious black garlic puree. Fantastic many times over. Can’t wait to come back to this place and try some of the other dishes.

Delicious food, service left something to be desired. If you’re in the mood for pizzas and pasta this is the place for you. Try the bread basket and spring for the upscale ricotta spread.

Great Italian spot for Wayzata. The in-house made ricotta was incredible, which comes with bread while you wait for your first course. They are not trying to turn tables here, so be ready for a long meal. My husband and I got a salad and meatballs to start and shared the bigoli pasta and sausage pizza. Our friends also shared a pasta dish and pizza. We asked for parmesan, which was $2 extra (comes in a ramekin, not a shaker, so high quality for sure). Overall, great meal! Wish we would have gotten the large pasta.

Easily jumped up to one of our top favorite spots in the cities. Our server, Chris, was phenomenal and was extremely personable without being over the top. The food was unbelievable, down to the home made bread served with ricotta and olive oil instead of the usual butter. You could tell the dough was their specialty, with the hand made pasta being absolutely perfect. Would highly recommend, and will definitely be back!

Get your carbs on!
Great pasta, might be on the small serving size for what some people expect but to that is the price you pay for fresh pasta, the quality is outstanding. The pizza is great too.
Try the asparagus appetizer and the ricotta with the bread.

Lovely pasta! I would love to see another vegetarian pasta option besides this buttery, peppery one although it was delicious. Our salad was underwhelming. Just one tiny orange segment, lettuce a few radish slices, and a seriously underwhelming amount of goat cheese. We’ll chalk that up to being new- I’ll be back to give everything another chance for sure.

We had a really lovely dining experience here last night. Wonderful food, fresh house made breads, pizza dough and (creative and yummy) pasta. We had 2 pastas and the ham fondue appetizer, and all was delicious. Portions not huge but certainly not tiny. Server very knowledgeable, down to earth and enthusiastic. Space was warm/comfortable but open. Not noisy when we were there but might be if very full. Prices seemed a bit high for meat entrees but pasta/ pizza/ apps not out of line for Wayzata. $2 off on wine/drinks and some Food every day including weekends. Will definitely return.

Enjoyed an absolutely amazing dinner here with my family! We passed around several dishes and pizza’s so we could sample a lot of options. First I want to mention the pasta is amazing! Second they are my new favorite pizza place in the twin cities. The crust and sauce were perfect .
