Old-school, family-owned pizza parlor dispensing thin-crust pies for more than seventy years. From the owners: Zeno’s began in 1952 when two Chicagoans Cosmo Nigrelli and Rocky Lavalle brought this new cuisine to Marshalltown, Iowa. Shortly thereafter the business was sold to Elmer Zeno Kluck, and the name was changed. In 1974, Elmer’s son, Terry and wife Jan took over the business and remodeled it to the glittering neon sign and interior aesthetic you still see to this day. After several successful decades, Zeno’s was sold to local couple Aaron and Michele Buzbee in 2013. Family owned and old school forever, Zenos is dispensing the same hand made Chicago style thin crust pies for generations.

Service was fast, efficient and cordial. I had the Zeno’s Special pizza and it was outstanding. The crust was perfect, not too hard and not to chewy. The ingredients were fresh and you could taste all the individual vegetables and meat distinctly. The prices were comparable to national pizza chain restaurants and the pizza came out quickly.

It had that ideal texture that makes every bite satisfying. The toppings were clearly fresh, and you could truly taste each individual ingredient. The vegetables had great flavor, and the meat was seasoned perfectly ✨. Every slice was packed with deliciousness. Definitely a pizza worth coming back for!

My extended family has been dining at Zeno’s for longer than I’ve been alive. We have our annual family “Christmas” dinner here every January. Zeno’s never disappoints! The service here is stellar, food is always fresh and delicious, and the menu is full of options! I always get the Bavarian pizza (sauerkraut, Canadian bacon or regular bacon) and add banana peppers. I’ve never had a single pizza here that I haven’t enjoyed! Their crust is always perfectly cooked, and the toppings are plentiful. While the prices may look a bit high at first, the amount of food you get is well worth it. Their pizzas are filling, and a large pizza was enough for 3 meals for me, when I can normally put away pizza like a beast. If you enjoy some old school charm and are a fan of places that haven’t unnecessarily modernized every single aspect of their operation, along with excellent service, great beers, awesome food, and a genuinely welcoming staff, look no further, Zeno’s is THE place! I just wish that they weren’t so far away for me, because I’d be eating here far more often than I get to!

Every time I roll into Iowa, there’s one stop that’s non-negotiable: this pizza place! It was my grandpa’s absolute favorite, and honestly, I get why … the service is always top-notch, and the pizza? Totally hits the spot. It’s kind of a tradition now, and I’m not mad about it!

Great pizza, great customer service, wonderful ambiance. I ate the funky chicken pizza and it was delicious. Lots of space for big party’s. No kids menu. They do offer a gluten free crust.
