It was my first time visiting, and Aleja was amazing. She walked me through the menu because there are so many options to choose from. It honestly took me about 30 minutes to decide, and the staff was very accommodating and patient the entire time.
I ordered the Old Fashioned breakfast because I wanted a little of everything. That big fluffy biscuit already had the perfect amount of butter baked in, and you can taste the salt in it. Condiments are available, but if you’re looking for traditional jelly, bring your own — they offer fresh-made jams and spreads daily instead.
The thick-cut bacon was delicious. The grits were thick and creamy — nothing needed to be added. The eggs were so cute and cooked perfectly. As a Louisiana girl, I only added pepper out of habit, but they didn’t need it.
The fresh orange juice was a little pricey but worth it. They also offer mimosas and other cocktails. Super affordable for the quality and portions.
The restaurant was very clean, the service was great from start to finish, and once we placed our order, the food came out quickly. It’s also a very family-friendly atmosphere, which makes it perfect for moms, families, or casual meetups.
We’re definitely putting this place in our rotation, and I’ll be back to try more of the menu — especially the shrimp and grits.
We had just black coffee. Had to wait for it they had techical difficulties with the coffee pot. They then left it alone and I had to go ask about it.
They give you a number at the register, but look confused when they come with your food. They are not sure who the food belong to. Not sure why.
Okay we ordered Shrimp and grits, vicious beignets, and the nashville hot chicken.
1. Shrimp and grits was a little on the sour side(like too much lemon), not much seasoning, more bread(biscuits)than grits.
2. Vicious beignets was good which it said it was filled with cream cheese and cinnamon. I tasted the cinnamon but did not see the cream cheese. It was still pretty good.
3. Nashville hot chicken was actually pretty good. It was not to spicy.
Overall, the customer service was ok, but not the best. The wait time for anything is ridiculous. It don’t matter if it is eating there, to-go, or door dash. There are pictures of how it looked freshly bought out to us. Sorry not a really good pic of chicken sandwich.
My husband and I made the trip from New Orleans to indulge—and it was so worth it. Being celiac, there are just some southern comforts I miss… and biscuits are at the very top of that list. The VB gluten-free menu is truly a dream come true! And the fact that my family can enjoy their own delicious, non-GF options too? Perfection.
Today’s customer service was absolutely 5-Star, from Sophia all the way to the general manager. Thank you for the full belly, the warm hospitality, and making my birthday feel extra special. Biscuits + joy = the best day! PS would LOVE a franchise in Metairie!
I will definitely return to try something new. The shrimp and grits was great, not spicy like many places but seasoned nicely.
Congratulations on building a good cultured restaurant guys.
We decided to share a variety of dishes: a classic buttermilk biscuit, shrimp ’n grits, and “The Fat Boy.” Their butter and jelly bar is a treat in itself, offering regular, honey, or bourbon butter alongside jams and spreads. My favorite was the blackberry jam paired with honey butter, while my husband preferred the strawberry jam and apple butter. The buttermilk biscuit was enormous—soft, fluffy, and a perfect canvas for those sweet toppings.
The shrimp ’n grits were outstanding—creamy grits topped with a flavorful sauce and perfectly cooked shrimp (tails already removed, which was a nice touch). “The Fat Boy” was a showstopper: a piece of boneless fried chicken drizzled with honey and Nashville hot sauce, topped with an egg cooked to your liking, all tucked inside a fresh biscuit.
We’ll definitely be going back—this time on an empty stomach—because there are plenty more menu items we want to try. Just a heads-up: it’s not the cheapest breakfast in town, but the flavor and experience make it worth it.
This place absolutely deserves recognition. The owners and staff are so pleasant and charming, and it’s just an all-around great hangout spot with an awesome atmosphere.
Now let’s talk about what you should order: THE FAT BOY. It is unbelievably good and an absolute must-get. Also have to give an honorable mention to the pimento cheese grits — they’re incredible. And the bacon… unlike anything else. Seriously.
If you haven’t been to Vicious Biscuit yet, you’re missing out. Amazing food and great people.
The restaurant was very clean and spacious. Great atmosphere!
