The best part about the restaurant was how kind the workers were. They greet you at the door, sit you down, and come check on you frequently. The visual aspect of the experience wasn’t bad. The music however did not match the overall vibe of the restaurant. The music was loud as well. The food wasn’t bad, nor was it the best thing I have tasted. It tasted like store bought ingredients put together. I had dry clumps of rice mixed in with my rice as well as a dry tortilla.

While being the main Mexican place in Bar Harbor, it was one of the most average stops in our food tour. We tried the steak fajitas and shrimp quesadilla, along with guac, salsa, and queso appetizer. It was an opportunity to eat something other than lobster. Drinks were good though!

Nachos were tasty, as most would be with this much cheese, no complaints. Chicken salad (not pictured) in taco shell was cold rotisserie poorly seasoned and very very small. Overpriced but thats everywhere in this town. Nice staff

We love Mexican food and wanted a break from all the seafood 🙂 Chips and salsa/queso were exceptional! Our meals had just “ok” flavor from what we’re used to with Mexican food. And the service was extremely slow even though they weren’t that busy for lunch. We also thought it was a tad over-priced for lunch.

Fish tacos were very flavorful. You get two with an order and they were delicious. Rice and refried beans were ok. Taco bowls and burrito bowls were also very good. Highly recommend the blueberry jalapeño margaritas as well. Nice blueberry flavor with a kick of jalapeño. Perfect.

Since this place was owned by what appeared to be a conglomerate (the cups and menu said it also was part of several restaurants in the area) so I was cautious with my expectations. I wanted to sit on the porch, but it was packed- and we had our baby with us, so it would have been cramped. We sat inside instead, and I was right next to the window, so I could still feel like I was outside. No one was inside since it was a lovely day, so we had the place to ourselves. The service was quick and friendly. I opted to get the lobster tacos, and I am so glad I did. The quality was incredible. It came with some guac, cheese, and pickles onions. The refried beans and rice were fairly standard, nothing fancy or different or that I haven’t had at any chain Mexican restaurant, but the tacos were out of this world! I was so sad there were only two. We had a nice helping of chips and salsa when we sat down, and they refilled the chips for us when we were done. I enjoyed a nice cold Corona with my meal, and was so full by the end, I couldn’t finish the rice or beans. If you come here, I would definitely get a locally-inspired meal, with seafood, or preferably, lobster! These were the best tacos I have ever had- but I can’t lie, it had a lot to do with the freshness and quality of the lobster that was in it. A real treat- pleasantly surprised. I’d definitely go back.

Good place for Mexican Food in Bar Harbor. Lot’s of vegan/vegetarian options to choose from. Simple Restaurant, not really fancy, but good vibes. Although the food was great, it was a little expensive. Overall nice restaurant with friendly staff.

We loved our dinner at Jalapenos Cantina! Had the veggie tacos and chicken and beef burritos. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and our waiter was friendly and efficient! It was good value. $90 for four of us, 4 meals, water, glass of wine, blueberry soda, tip included. Highly recommended!
