Absolutely incredible! We came in as a part of 2 tonight and the hostess Sasha was wonderful. She sat us in the dining room, and was very attentive throughout the duration of our dinner. We had the special that was a crab stuffed chicken lightly bread with a cream sauce and angel hair pasta that was amazing! We also order the lasagna a classic that was simply delicious! For appetizers we ordered the eggplant rollatini and the calamari, both were superb! The entire experience was 5 stars! I highly recommend this restaurant for dinner, and if you choose to dine on the weekend, please be sure to have a reservation.

Came to this restaurant with high hopes based on the reviews. I received my food & it was raw & I felt extremely sick after one bite. I asked the waitress is there any way I can have this removed from the bill because I did not like the food. She stated that since there was nothing wrong with it I could not & I couldn’t swap it for anything else on the menu. I politely asked for a Manager. The manager came & was upset that the fact that I even asked to have it taken off the check. She did remove it but charged me for a salad that came with the meal.. I paid it just so I could leave the restaurant. I will never come back here again. If I could give zero stars I would. Poor customer service.

Nice atmosphere when the back area is opened up. Chandeliers, nice tables, good service. Prices are a little high $25 a plate, but that’s not too different from the average rate. Serving sizes are very generous – usually about the size of two meals, so expect to have some left over.
Tip: chicken parm is amazing, and if you like spicy sauce you can ask for it ‘Fra Diavolo’ (spicy) so the sauce has a little spunk or kick to it.

First time at this restaurant in downtown Albany NY. Few Italian restaurants get a rating of absolutely excellent but this one nails it. Quiet , attractive environment, family owned and the quality of the food is outstanding!! Prices are really reasonable. On street parking but side streets provide ample access. Close to Empire State plaza and Times Union center. No disappointments.

7 of us were there on 1/20/17, the food was amazing. The staff was so friendly, always smiling and checking on us.. their Chicken Alfredo is out of this world!!! Highly recommend this place.. We will definitely be back!! Thank you so much you made us feel like part of your family!!!

I thought the wait staff were friendly. The food was good, but didn’t blow my socks off. We visited during restaurant week and got to sample a couple of options. The chicken parm was decent and the shrimp fradiavolo had good flavor but looked very “homey.” I do give them props for having a very yummy cannoli. They were tiny and I left craving just a bit more.

Me and my fiancee found V&R during Restaurant week, and we loved it. We had dinner at the bar because we forgot to make a reservation, but we did not miss out. The bartender Fred was absolutely great. He took care of us along with fixing the music (it happen to stop playing), and making drinks for the other tables. What really made us like him more, was even though had alot of stuff going on, he was able provide a positive experience not only to us, but to other customers who were at the bar waiting for a table. The food was phenomenal and the dessert (which was homemade) was delicious.

My stomach said that this is one of the best Italian restaurants in Albany. I’m not Italian but I’m from the Bronx, and my mom love love love going to little Italy in the Bronx. Hands-down the greatest I know there are others but for me the greatest place to eat Italian authentic but you’re in Albany and V&R one of my favorites!

Fantastic meal. Atmosphere was warm and inviting. Bread was warm and fresh with garlic oil to dip. Meals were fantastic. I highly recommend the Penne with vodka sauce. Would certainly go back.
