I arrived at this restaurant on a Wednesday night. The place was nearly empty, with just 2 other groups dining in the back end of the restaurant. The space is large with ample seating inside, which is probably why the restaurant felt even emptier than it was.

Maybe I ordered the weakest dish on the menu—I had the Chicken Pad Thai, which is usually my default order when trying a new Thai restaurant. The pad thai portion was generous, but very underwhelming quality-wise. The noodles were overcooked and the flavor was absolutely bland, with no real flavor. For context, I’ve had many great pad thai noodles in New York City, so maybe I had too high expectations at a local Thai restaurant in Burlington, VT. Regardless, I couldn’t finish it, and that’s very rare for me.

By the way, the Chicken option for the Pad Thai is an extra $2…so the total is about $18 for a very underwhelming chicken pad thai. I couldn’t help but feel robbed…

I also ordered a Thai Iced Tea, which was okay, but slightly too sweet.

At the very least, this restaurant has nice and friendly service. I don’t understand all the positive reviews on here, but perhaps I should have tried a different dish from the menu. I do not recommend the pad thai from East West Café.

Open on Monday for Dinner. Arrived around 8:00 pm for our first visit. Very nice waiter explained many of the menu items. Tom kha soup was a nice sized and very tasty portion. Mixed vegetables and rice were enough for two to share! Prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be back.

We really wanted to try Thai food while in Burlington for our last dinner while visiting. This place was great! The spring rolls were crispy & delicious. The Thai iced tea was one of the best we’ve had, topped with Cabot whipped cream! My husband & I split the Thai fried rice & the drunken noodles- both vegetable. We ordered the Thai fried rice mild, & got slightly spicy for the drunken noodles & it was a good amount of spice. Reasonably priced & huge portions! Very nice staff.

I like the hint of spiciness in both the salad and the soup noodles. Salad is very refreshing, with the chewy papaya and grinded peanuts, it is satisfying for my teeth and my tummy!

On a rainy day like today, it’s totally comforting to have a warm soup with seafood and rice noodles!

There’s a friendly staff to help me with the newly input QR code ordering. It’s easy breezy!

Best Thai cuisine I’ve ever had – and that is saying a lot after decades of enjoying Thai food across many different urban centers. I swapped out chicken for shrimp in thai coconut soup and it was beyond scrumptious. The Pad Se Yew noodles with chicken was incredible. Everything is served fresh. The staff are sweet, kind, respectful and professional. I will be coming here again!

Pros:
– Delicious food! The Pineapple Eggplant With Cashew was savory and sweet, with different textures and each vegetable cooked just right. And it was nice to be able to try a vegan version of Vietnamese Iced Coffee, which is somewhat hard to find.

– Warm ambiance and service. The interior is spacious, cozy, and relaxing with twinkling lights and instrumental music playing. But the best part is the very personable, mellow, and friendly service by Spencer, who is also the co-founder of the place.

Cons:
– from my single visit here, can’t think of any.

The food is delicious, some of the best Thai I’ve had anywhere. Everyone who works there is warm and friendly, and I will happily come back here for my next Thai craving. I highly suggest the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and the chicken & shrimp dumplings
