Wanted to give a HUGE shout out to Blue Horse Bakery in Nacogdoches. They made the cake for my son’s baptism and it was by far the best cake I have ever had. Plus, it looked so beautiful we were wary of even cutting into it!! As if it couldn’t get any better, the owner herself delivered it to our door and we had a lovely chat with her. That’s the kind of hospitality and exceptional service you get when you choose our hometown small businesses. Thank you so much Blue Horse Bakery!! We are getting our cakes exclusively from them starting now ❤

Had the chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream. The buttercream frosting was great. The chocolate was bland, it barely tasted like chocolate. The stuffed chocolate chip cookie was good though.
After explaining to the barista that I was not satisfied with the chocolate cake, they exclaimed: “oh, sorry you didn’t like it”. There was No offer for a replacement. So Two stars for service, three for quality.

Pleasant atmosphere, tasty food – but kinda too pricey, especially for small bottled drinks and normal sized baked goods. Ask prices before you agree to buy something – a single cupcake is $2.75, a cookie $1.75 – same size as you can get at a grocer’s bakery, but Blue Horse is well more than twice the price. Plus one star for being a local owned cafe, and that cookie was delicious.

I live outta town and I wanted to send a cake to my sister and her family. Blue Horse Bakery made them a delicious cake and delivered it to my sister’s house too! I found the price to be good, the customer service to be great, and, from what I heard, their cake is delicious. All around Blue Horse Bakery I am very happy choosing them to send my sister and her family a cake from outta the blue. If I ever need another cake made, or if YOU do, then I’ll ORDER from them again.

Delicious doesn’t even begin to describe how great the cupcakes are at Blue Horse Bakery! The owner, Whitney, welcomed us from the time we entered the door, and took superb care of us until we left. I could eat cupcake after cupcake. She even let my kiddos choose their preferred sprinkles — which made their day! You are crazy if you are in Nacogdoches and do not stop in. Yum yum yum!

Their cake tasted as great as it looks, and it looked incredibly cute!! I live out of town and was having a birthday party in the area where they are located and we did everything via telephone or email. I gave them some ideas and they came up with the final design and it turned out PERFECT!! Oh and did I say it tasted amazing, because it tasted amazing!! Great job!!!

A bakery within walking distance – yes my waistline is doomed and I don’t care! Best cupcakes and always yummy flavors. Huge cookies. Haven’t used the cake services but what I see online looks beautiful. Limited lunch options but all are freshly made. Great addition to downtown Nacogdoches.

2/26/22 Stopped by today while visiting Nac in hopes of getting ready made gluten-free cupcakes. Wasn’t able to do that because they have a sign on door stating they no longer cater to walk-in business, only call ahead orders. Not complaining, just making others aware who may plan on driving here for a spontaneous purchase.

I gave it 4 stars only because it just opened. The staff are still learning just exactly what those tips are supposed to be for. The table service, after you place your order yourself at the counter and pay for it (including tip), was lacking in experience. Our order came out one at a time. So by the time everyone was served, the first persons food was not so hot anymore (provided they waited for everyone to be served). And we had to go to the counter to have them refill the coffee. The food was VERY good! We had the quiches, vegetarian quiches, the blackberry-bacon-jalapeno grilled cheese(yummy), and the muffins with butter cream icing. Oh yeah! Very good. We hope the restaurant succeeds. We’ll be back every time we come to SFA during the next 4 years of our daughters college education….I think I will not be tipping in advance of service though. Lol.
