We found a table for our family of five, and then scanned the room for a waitress or waiter to take our orders. After some time, a friendly young lady named Natalie, came to us and explained how things are done at this place.
Once ordered, our food came out rather quickly. The food looked attractive, and was to our liking, taste wise. We later ordered three different desserts to try, and although they looked attractive, they were quite bland in taste. We found out later, that these desserts had been pre-made somewhere else. That was shocking and very disappointing.
We had an issue tonight. We have eaten here literally a 1,000 times and the food has always been hot and fresh! We love this place. However, tonight was not so great, the service, and the food was below par. We called in a medium pepperoni pizza at 5:33pm, Veronica (who was on the phone taking the order said ‘15 minutes’) I got there to pick up the pizza at 5:47pm-exactly 14 minutes after the order was placed and said it was going to take 15 minutes. I went up, requested my pickup order and added a salad to the order. No worries if it took a little longer. I waited for 20 minutes for the pizza and salad….nothing. There was about 7 other people that had come in during the time I was there picking up their pick up orders of one or so pizzas. But mine was not “ready”. At the 25 minute mark I decided to get in my car and go home and my fiance came in right as I left to get the pizza (I had a 2 year old waiting with me and I needed to take her home). He walked in and said he had a pick up order for Cameron, and waited another 7 minutes to receive the pizza and salad. When Veronica handed him the pizza Cameron (my fiance) said “you said it would be 15 minutes and it’s been closer to 45 minutes. Veronica’s response was “I lied” and laughed. WHAT? When we got home (we live .6 miles from Palio’s) the pizza was literally so cold and the salad was warm and wilted. Cameron called and asked to speak to the manager, and low and behold the manager was Veronica. How convenient… she was really rude on the phone and had no explanation for anything. I’m SUPER pissed, I know it’s such a small thing to be upset about but the customer service was more irritating than the cold pizza and wilted warm salad.
Have grease dust on the lights, bench booth seats are torn…all of them.
Where I say, there was constant drip from the a/c vents…
If a restaurant is this poorly kept for customers to experience, what happens in the kitchen?
Back to the food…Mac and cheese that grandson’s ordered looked amazing, and they gobbled it up! Pizzas were thin crust and did not disappoint on flavor. I might try another Palos somewhere else, but I won’t be visiting this one in Granbury again.
It’s always clean and friendly staff. There is an outdoor patio with plenty of seating. Or eat inside and watch the game and sit by the fireplace.
