The food is absolutely spectacularly bombastic! So full of flavor and I love the fact that they do a buffet on every first Sunday of every month. I have been going here for about a year and some change. Every now and then we have to leave town and head up there. This place has become a staple and I completely see why it’s always packed! If I had to recommend anything I would try the yassa chicken, you can’t go wrong with plantains, they have plenty of selections of rice and beans, the jerk chicken, and I believe they used to have red snapper, not sure what fish they have now but it’s good! Everything just tastes so good and when you mix it all together the flavors combined to create a smorgasbord of delicious/delectable heaven on earth! I love me some Caribbean food, and African food is the roots that tie all life together so when you combine the two, how could you go wrong!?

LISTEN UP…I usually don’t post. The Senegalese Dibi was TERRIBLE! Why rob customers of their hard earn cash with a meal full of a bunch of grease & fat-bones? I’m so very dissatisfied and disappointed! The Plantains were greasy too!!! Very sweet, yet DEFINITELY not worth the hard earned $42 worth of pennies spent. There were huge portions of Rice and the Rice/Grilled vegs. had more flavor than the Meat! This not something I would chase down or buy again.

I’ve been visiting KG’s for 4 years now and they have always been consistent with food both quality and taste, and service. If I could make one complaint I would say sometimes the lamb dibi (pictured) could be cooked a little longer. Other than that, it’s one of my favorite “hole in the wall” restaurants.

I wish I could post pictures of the food but unfortunately, the food was devoured before I could get pictures. Hands down, some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life. I ordered the Jerk Chicken with rice and beans and an order of plantains. The chicken was so tender, you didn’t even need teeth to get it off the bone. It was spicy but addictively spicy and I kept wanting to go back for more. The plantains were a nice treat. Lightly sweet and tart with a savory note from the spices. Everything was seasoned generously and every bite was an explosion of delicious flavors. This is just straight up good cooking. No frills or gimmicks. I will be back to try more!

Very disappointing. After trusting the previous reviews we thought it reasonable to expect at least good food on Valentines day. We left there feeling hungry and cheated. Though originally noticing a dull atmosphere, we still had hope considering they weren’t busy. Smh… Instead, we got a lot of rice/beans that was soft on the outside & dry inside , the oxtails and chicken quarter was lack luster & a very small portion in each dish, and the plantain dry as —- . The carry out orders seemed to get better service. It was no where near worth the money we spent. I’m not a cook and/or African or Carribean but could’ve done much better at home. In case you’re wondering, yes, I’ve had good African & Caribbean many times before.

Great food at this little establishment. Absolutely delighted that we tried it. Tasty senegalese food, for a great price with big portions. The service was excellent, our server was so friendly and, although busy with takeout orders and other customers, kept checking on us to ensure we were taken care of. Will be back!
Edit: I’ve gone back, and the food has continued to be amazing. The juices are made in house and are delicious. Portions are big, which is great for leftovers. Service was similarly excellent and I think I’ll be adding this to my go to options for takeout. Keep it up!

Professional Office
The food was authentic and great! The customer service was warm and welcoming. Don’t expect to get in and out fast food style service. Though the wait time is not long, it is appropriate time to know that your food is prepared fresh. Everything tasted good. The Soup Kandja was my favorite. We requested our food to be in takeout containers but we did dine in and carry the some with us (the portions are plentiful).

This was my first visit! The food was delicious. I was looking for some more sauces and spices, but they do a good job making food that caters to the majority. The staff are helpful, kind, friendly, and accommodating. They really take care of their guest. I will definitely be back!
