Here’s the point I want to make: as Uber drivers, we are the ones responsible for picking up the products this store sells and delivering them safely to customers. In that sense, we are essentially working in partnership with these brands. I can understand if a store does not want random people off the street using their restrooms, since some people leave them dirty. But we Uber drivers already face enough challenges on the job, and when we politely request to use a restroom at the very stores we are helping do business, it should not be an issue.
What this store did is absolutely disgraceful. To say “only customers” can use the restroom makes no sense. Any random customer can walk in, destroy the restroom, and walk out. Meanwhile, I, who came in to support the business by picking up an order, could easily leave it just as clean as I found it.
So I want to address this message directly to the area manager: Sir, I left that $2 bottle of water there for you. Please drink it in my place. If it was you who made this rule—and I’m sure it was—then shame on you. This is a pathetic decision and shows a pathetic perspective. I truly hope that after reading this message, you change this ridiculous mindset. Because people like you, with such disgraceful thinking, are far too common in America today.
America needs people who think with logic, with empathy, and with a broader perspective. So start learning how to empathize and make better decisions. And please, drink the $2 bottle of water I left there for you. If you don’t, then at least give it to someone in need—maybe a homeless person.
We also got the signature Five Guys fries, which were delicious and came with a fun touch—a small whiteboard in the store displayed the origin of the potatoes used that day, which happened to be from Idaho. Although we didn’t order drinks this time, it’s worth noting that they’re very affordable, at just over two dollars, with unlimited refills. Overall, Five Guys offers a consistently satisfying fast food experience that never disappoints.
I can just imagine the training session for Five Guys.
Manager: Add fries!
Trainee: But sir, the cup is full…
Manager: ADD MORE FRIES!
Trainee: …now the bag is full…
Manager: Perfect.
Only critique is I wish the fries were always super crispy. I’ve gotten the cajun fries maybe 5 times and one time it was crispy and were some of the best cajun fries I’ve ever had from anywhere my entire life…and the other times they’re a bit more soggy, but the taste is there (even when they’re made fresh) and they’re just fine.
I will absolutely not be ordering thru Five Guys and I highly encourage better customer experience training. Huge disappointment
Noting, that I am understanding of working in a place that is not your native language but insisting that I come in store and lying about my order are separate issues.
When I went into the store, one of the male staff members was extremely rude and unhelpful. I asked to use the restroom, but he refused to let me in because it was locked with a code. I explained that I’m a regular and just ordered food yesterday, but today I only needed to use the restroom. Still, he spoke to me in a cold and disrespectful way, saying things like “That was yesterday, not today.”
What upset me even more was how differently he treated other customers. He seemed to act more friendly toward people who looked like him, but was cold and unfriendly toward others like me. This felt very unfair and made me feel really uncomfortable.
I’ve never experienced anything like this before at Five Guys, and it was very disappointing. I won’t be coming back to this location again.
Don’t get me wrong they are tasty but did they worth $40?!
It is good to know that there is a local Five Guys in this area. Close enough to satisfy your (cheese)burger and fries needs as well as your shake and peanuts fix.
