Tex Barry’s in Attleboro has had that “home” feeling for decades.
The staff is friendly, and the customers are friendly. Don’t be surprised if the stranger next to you starts chatting it up with you. Don’t wanna talk, then just smile and eat up!
You will not be disappointed with the food, service, atmosphere, or prices! Be sure to tip your server(s)!
I have always felt welcomed here and left with a full belly (and still had cash in my wallet).
French fries are probably the best around, quickly made to order (not sitting under a heat-lamp waiting for you, hint: order your fries first, then your burger or dogs): add a sprinkle of celery salt/vinegar and enjoy.
Hot dogs come light, medium, or dark roast, just like I prefer my coffee choices. Hamburgers are cooked exactly how you order it–“Art” has been doing this for a long time. He IS an expert! Don’t worry if Art is out, the girls here also know how to cook a burger (experience pays off!).
I highly recommend getting a fruit punch (best around), and they even sell coffee milk (if you’re from NE, you know about coffee milk )
The girls are cute, funny, friendly, and know what they are doing here–dont forget to tip them, because they deserve it!
Eating here is always a priceless experience. I promise you, you WILL come back again!
Now that the kids are grown, it’s one of those places that still feels like home. The food hasn’t changed, and neither has the feeling — good people, great service, and that same old-school charm that made it special back then. Some places you outgrow; this isn’t one of them.
The staff was super friendly and made both outings a great time. A great local Attleboro spot to bring a friend.
The ambiance of the diner is cozy and nostalgic, bringing back memories of classic diners from the good old days.
The hotdog buns are steamed perfect, and the chili is on point. The hotdog is not a Nathan’s dog, and has no snap. It has more of a Vienna sausage taste, but you can’t beat the price point.
Don’t bother on the fries they don’t give you much and the soda is flat so order a can.
Phenomenal first experience. I’m sure I’ll be back, which is only unfortunate for the waistline. Perfectly cooked hot dog. Chili, mustard and onion work perfectly. Most importantly the soft, steamed bun is perfect.
