SingleSpeed Brewing Co. is an excellent spot that really caters to everyone. We had a great time and found the service to be top-notch throughout our visit.
The Highlights:
Food & Drinks: The nachos and pizzas were delicious. If you are a fan of beer or mojitos, this is definitely the place for you! My nonveg colleague were delighted wiith taste. All mojitoes were good
Convenience: They offer mobile food ordering, which makes the process seamless. Plus, there is ample parking available, which is a huge plus in this area.
Facilities: The washrooms were clean and well-maintained.
Areas for Improvement:
Dessert: The ice cream was just average; we were expecting a bit more punch in the flavor department.
Ceiling: The ceilings ambience is okay, but it feels like it has the potential to be something much more unique or vibrant.
Overall: A solid choice for all types of groups. Whether you’re here for the drinks or a casual meal, it’s worth the visit

We met family today for lunch at SingleSpeed Brewing in Waterloo, Iowa. It was Monday and they were not busy. We had excellent food and service. Our daughter is Gluten Intolerant and they had options for her. When she asked questions about the gluten free Tacos the server went to the kitchen and confirmed her choice was gluten free. Turned out the beef was marinated in one of their beers so it was not gluten free. They confirmed that the chicken, pork and vegetables Tacos on corn tortillas were GF. Was nice to see the staff was concerned for her allergy. The rest of us had the burgers, a wrap and noodles.

Very nicely plated , burger had very good flavor and was cooked to perfection. However the Ranch missed the mark for me . Tastes like sour cream and watered down milk. Which made the salad inedible.

Not impressed. They were out of one of the limited brews, the Bleu burger has a blueberry jam, which was an interesting contrast but it was too overwhelming. Sat at the bar and had to ask for silverware and napkins when my food came out. The poor guy next to me never got any napkins so I handed him some of mine. The bartender didn’t offer water or another beer until I was obviously ready to leave.
The buffalo chicken chili is really good though.

This has to be one of the better places to eat in Waterloo. There’s not many options in the city that doesn’t have the same menu as most restaurants. If I come back, I’m going here.

Great Brewery, tap room is large and has a good kids area. Beer is all around fantastic! They have some great staples and a few amazing seasonal beers. Tip the cow is always a great beer! There food menu changes regularly and always has great options on it. I usually get the tacos and am always surprised at how good they are!

One year later and we came back!! Still get the cauliflower app, and get the peach wings!! You won’t regret them.
Get a flight and try all the beers you’re contemplating! Definitely splurge for the beer cheese dip, no matter what you order. The fries dipped in it are great. The cauliflower app is absolutely unique and outstanding! It was gone before I could get a pic of it! Don’t hesitate to try it. All dips are house-made, and worth every ounce of effort they put into them. Vibe here is awesome, and the patio is phenomenal. We had the umami burger, fish and chips and pulled pork sandwich. Also, very Iowa forward, with Iowa sweet corn and other Iowa touches. Wish this was closer to us! But we’ll be back if we’re in the area.

What a beautiful restaurant! Unfortunately since I don’t drink it probably isn’t the kind of place I would normally choose, however, it was suggested by friend and I thought we would give it a try. Truly spectacular architecture, a wide variety of seating options, super friendly staff. Burger was decent, a good size, prepared well, although the toppings wete not as tasty as I’d hoped. Fries were delicious! Service was good on a Monday night, the place was hopping by the time we left. Free parking behind the open air seating area. Like I said, I don’t drink, but if you do my there is plenty for you to like here!

Great place in a great space! Food was delicious, service was quick, staff were attentive and nice, and the beer was tasty! Great portion sizes! Everything tasted great but my chicken and waffles was our favorite! Having a kids play area made it especially welcoming for a traveling family, we passed on stopping at a brewery in MN because kids were not welcome. The reuse of materials from the old Hostess factory was really cool! And the humor of some of the signs makes it feel like a fun place!
