It’s a cold and desolate night north of Richmond, but this place brightened things up! Large comfortable booth, traditional favorites on the menu. My wife had the birria tacos, stuffed with meat and very hot. Great sauce with them and rice. I had three Al Pastor tacos served with beans. Everything was terrific. Mayra, our server, was kind, fast and efficient. Even the other server checked on us to make sure we were satisfied. It was a fabulous meal. If you like traditional Mexican food, this place is one of the best we’ve seen in the US.

Food was so good I forgot to take pictures before I dove in face first Seriously we started with the Fajitas Nachos Texanos style and it was so good our appetizer became our meal. Ordered more food to take home,
we will absolutely be back!

Delicious food and great service! I got a “medium” marg that was absolutely huge; I’d be scared to see the large. I love that their menu includes some more authentic dishes as well as a few experimental options – it’s not just your usual texmex experience.

Came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday and had a lovely time! It’s very colorful and festive, which my kids loved. Service was prompt and attentive. The tableside guacamole was delicious and the salsa was great too! I got the shrimp tacos, which were good (but slightly spicy), and my husband got the sopes, which neither of us had before. He got it with chicken and both he and my son (4) really enjoyed it! I also tried some and it was good – the sope has a unique flavor and texture. It’s thicker than a tortilla and soaks up the flavors well. I also got the Mexican street corn and it was ok. I think I might just not be a fan of it – it always looks like it’d be more flavorful in pictures. We got the kids taco salad for our daughter (5) which she didn’t enjoy as much, unfortunately.

There’s a lot of seating here, and what looks like a separate (potentially reservable?) space for parties. It was pretty busy for a Saturday evening dinner, but not crazy. I wish I could give 4.5 stars – the food was good, but not amazing. If it weren’t so close to my house I’d probably go elsewhere for Tex Mex. The sopes were a nice surprise though – I don’t see that on every menu. Still, definitely a good local Mexican spot. Great service, good food, good vibes.

I visited Tres Machos today for lunch at the suggestion of a friend. We ate outside, so I can not speak to the interior decor. The tables outside were fine, just the interior tables placed on the sidewalk.
The service was excellent. We had chips and salsa almost immediately and drinks shortly after. The waiter recommended the burrito, Mexicano, and it was phenomenal. My buddy also went with the waiter’s suggestion and he was impressed as well. Great food, great service and reasonable prices. A win all around.

I was in town for a couple of hours and wasn’t so sure where to go and am I glad I chose the right place. Tres Machos reminds me of the good old days when I used to travel to Mexico. I ordered the Lunch Special Mexicano with steak it had a lot of flavor, rice was fluffy and soft, beans were nice and moistened. The best part about this place is that you get a free refill on the Horchata and that is not common especially in Virginia!

1st time eating here.with my daughter. Although I was surprised that the restaurant was kinda small, it was comfortable, clean and inviting. The menu had plenty of options to choose from with a large variety of appetizers, entrees and drinks. Our waitress who was very nice and very attentive to our needs only spoke to us in Spanish which was very entertaining as we only knew very little of the language but we managed to understand her and she appreciated what we did know of the language. She actually taught us how to order our food in spanish which we found to be helpful and entertaining. I ordered my favorite dish, steak fajitas and I also ordered a frozen blue margaritas. Their lunch specials ended at 3pm and we had just made it to get the discounted plates. They gave us a plate of chips and salsa while we waited for our food and the chips were nice and warm. Salsa was very good (not watery) very tasty. We also tried the corn on the cob with all of the creamy dressing on top. It was hot and very filling, but I didn’t like it. My daughter enjoyed hers. It just wasnt my thing with all of the additives on top. Next came my drink which was huge for a medium. It was absolutely delicious! My daughter ordered a frozen mango drink which was also large (she ordered a medium) and SO delicious! My fajita plate was small (luncheon special) but came to the table sizzling and hot. My disappointment in the dish was that there were mostly peppers and barely any onions (I love caramelized onions!) Still I was satisfied with the dish. I felt as though the dish tasted the same as all of the other Mexican restaurants in the area. Nothing special with the flavors or preparations. It came with lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, rice and beans. I’m giving this place a 4 star but I plan to come back with friends for the drinks which are waaay better than the drinks at Top Golf where we go very often. We now plan to stop here for drinks first and then cross the street to enjoy golfing!

Enchiladas Verde and carne asda tacos were excellent. Additional parking in back through the drive on right of building. Staff were very nice and attentive.
