The service was quick and we were able to get a seat immediately. The lunch menu pricing was a pretty good deal and I was happy with my burger. I’m a big fan of their waffle fries especially they’re loaded fry option. It is perfect for sitting there watching football or whatever your sport of choice is. We were there for a quick business meeting and given that it was not terribly busy the noise level was perfect for being able to talk without having to shout.

Went here for the first time. My noodles and breaded chicken were both soggy. Also our server was good but forgot all about the to-go box and we ended up waiting for a while. Only got (i think) 5 tiny mozzarella sticks. For half the appetizer order and my soggy dinner I paid almost $25 (including tip). Had lunch with my mom today at IHOP, total was $23 for both of us (not including tip).

We were seated right away (mind you there was only 2 of us and it wasn’t all that busy when we went in). The waitress came and took out drink order right as we sat down, she was very friendly, we ordered our drinks and appetizers, they took a little bit but not very long to get. I wasn’t disappointed with the cheese balls. We ordered and our order came out about 15-20 min later, which I think is acceptable. But I was disappointed that my steak that I said was suppose to be well done, came out to be medium rare, I asked for fires in the beginning also but ended up with a baked potato. But over all I think this place is lovely and I will be going back.

Our service was great and very personable. The food was decent, especially the Waffle Fries. The building and atmosphere though is very dark and dingy. It would garner a lot more stars with a fresh coat of paint and some sprucing up.

came here for the first time a few months ago. service was slow. food was anything but hot. my burger was burnt (yet still cold) must of sat there for 20 min before they brought it out. brought both my kids with, they brought 1 meal out first and it took 10 min before my other kid got her meal. what a joke of a place. and when I asked to talk to the manager, I was told I was unable because he/she was on break. no discount no i’m sorry. nothing! what a joke of a restaurant.

Almost left. Took 15 min to get a waitress to take drink order, another 10 min to get 2 beers. We were one couple of 6 tables. 25 min now still waiting to take order. I said some comment loud enough to be heard by the hostess on her phone by the door. Suddenly we get our order taken. Out water finally shows up. Now an hour since we been there, we get our food. Good is only thing saving this review. It was excellent. Burgers cooked to perfection. Medium. Service here needs to be IMPROVED since it was so bad, I won’t be going back for awile. Hope it improves. The bathroom was dark and gross. Had half dozen air freshners. Find the odor issue people! Very gross bathrooms.

This place is having issues. Apparently they think a guy sitting at the bar by himself, drinking a soda for 20 minutes is a threat to their business. I was asked to move to a table away from the bar top make room for others who are buying food. “Have to pay the bills” the bartender said to me. The place was dead. So yes, I might not have ordered anything else on this night. I wasn’t hungry and wanted to catch a couple innings of the World Series. Now they won’t see me and my family ever again. I will tell everyone about how I was treated. Read the other recent reviews about the poor service, bitter staff. I expect to drive by and see this place closed within the next couple years. I have no problem going to Jethro’s down the street. Much better service, food, atmosphere, management.

Well what do you know. It happened even faster than I predicted. As I shared my bad experience with friends and co-workers last year, I found a countless number of people that felt the same way about the Legends restaurants. I don’t think you’ll find many that are sad to see the doors close on all of these in Des Moines metro. Courtesy and Civility wins again.

I’m in town on business so we (group of 5) decided to try this place for lunch. The place looks like an average sports bar. The food wasn’t that great, very bland, however our waitress was friendly. The service was slow which isn’t convenient for lunch hours. I gave it 2 stars because I don’t know anything about dinner or bar service. I wouldn’t recommend this place. I’ll just say, try at your own risk. Your experience may be better than mine.

We made reservations for 10 a.m. Sunday brunch (4-8-18) for six adults and five children, only to show up to locked doors. They opened at 10 a.m. – we telephoned and were told that the “bartender” who is also the cook was a no-call no-show and they did not have anyway of preparing food. We drove from out of town.
We ended up going to the Cozy Cafe right next door and it was wonderful!!! Great food and very friendly service.
Would not recommend Legends.
Go to Cozy Cafe instead.

Mediocre food: preparation was not as requested (although server offered to have replaced) and seasoning was heavy on salt and grease. Quality was overall just not good, and didn’t satisfy or sit well.
Good beer selection, but that seemed to draw a really obnoxious crowd. Dude bro isn’t appealing when guys are in their 20s. By mid 40s? Gah. Don’t know if this is the regular scene, but if it is, my sympathy to the staff.
Service was solid, although the staff looked fatigued and harassed, and was commenting on how many days they had left. Can’t blame them.
