Since its inception as a farmer-owned restaurant in 2016, the Hub Cafe has been dedicated to creating freshly-prepared and locally-sourced breakfasts, brunches, and lunches in Lincoln, Nebraska. The cafe’s location on the confluence of Lincoln’s vast bike trail network that overlooks the beautiful Antelope Valley has contributed to its name, serving as a hub for friends, food, community, and bicycling. Went here for the first time with my sister and it was so good! We tried to come one other time but the wait for food was too long so this time we came on a Wednesday! We got the Avocado + Preserved Lemon Toast and Roasted Sweet Potato Sandwich to eat, both were amazing!

The food at Hub Cafe is delicious. Locally sourced, and I feel good supporting them.
However, they recently changed their setup, and while you won’t wait to get a table, their food service is extremely slow. The past couple of times we have gone we have waited well over an hour to finally get our food (and they weren’t busy either time)
Give it a go if you don’t have any plans you need to get to in a timely manner.

The Hub Cafe is one of those farm-table breakfast spots you go to when you actually want to enjoy your morning. Their French toast is hands-down some of the best I’ve ever had—fresh, comforting, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Everything tastes like it came straight from the source, not out of a package, which is such a refreshing change from overly processed breakfast food elsewhere.
The coffee is excellent, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and it’s the kind of place where you don’t feel rushed. I’ve only been for breakfast so far, but they also host lunches and events—and if you’re around in the summer, keep an eye out for their music fest. I’ve heard it’s fantastic.
Yes, it can get busy on a Saturday morning, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. If you love fresh food, great coffee, and a cozy farm-style vibe, this place is a must-stop.

We stopped in for lunch (my first ever visit) and had a fine experience. I ordered the Hub Skillet and my wife had the Avocado + Preserved Lemon Toast. The food came out pretty quickly but we decided to wait for our table mates to get their food. Despite ordering literally right after us their Blueberry Power Bowl and Savory Breakfast Bowl came approximately 10 minutes after ours.
My skillet was ok, pretty small for the price and mostly potatoes. In my opinion it was a bit overpriced. My wife loved her avocado toast, it’s the only thing she gets whenever she dines here.
Be aware, there is quite a bit of self service required for this place. After ordering at the counter, they deliver your food and specialized drink to you, other than that you are on your own. Water is at a location in the center of the dining room, you clear your own table and go back to the counter for more food/drink. Personally, I think for the price of a meal and then the dreaded “suggested tip” percentages it just does not compute to me.

I arrived at 9:37 didn’t wait in line too long and ordered by 9:45. Didn’t get my food until 10:23. I ordered the korean chicken tacos. I found 2 bones in the tacos. Overall the food was ok, service was below average and the atmosphere is cute.

I had the kimchi chicken tacos with an egg and a salad. Sounds simple right? I waited 45 min for my food to come out. It came out cold and soggy as if it had been sitting on a counter. I would have loved it if it had come out on time and warm at least. I tried to bring it up to the staff working at the time and she had claimed it came out on time and that the kimchi can make it soggy but even the egg was cold. I’m frustrated because I felt that I wasn’t heard or understood. The environment was nice but it’s mostly self serve. I’d like to give it another try but maybe on a day with different staff. People were coming in and out as I was still waiting for my food. I felt like I wasn’t prioritized at this place because of my appearance only wearing leggings and a t shirt as everyone else was nicely dressed and came in a group. I am disappointed to say the least.

Very nice place for vegetarians and vegans! The menu was clearly marked and the food was tasty. The Huevos Rancheros had a lot of beans and the sweet potato sandwich had a great sauce. It is a little pricey.

Food was good! Service was friendly and it felt comfortable however the prices are a bit steep and the portions quite small onall thing except the French toast which is massive I went once got the chicken tacos they were pretty good and the next time i went I got huevos rancheros which is like nostalgia to me and it tastes right but the price didn’t seem quite right

The food was okay. We had the Chicken Bulgogi Tacos and French Toast, and they looked great, but you could find the same food elsewhere that tastes better and for cheaper. A lot of self-service, only time you don’t have to help yourself is when you get your drinks and food, have to return plates yourself. Waited around 30 minutes for our food. Would only recommend trying once.

We have eaten at the Hub Cafe several times and had good experiences but it was not the case this last time. We decided to go there for lunch on a Sunday. We sat outside and waited and waited for our food. I think it was a good 45-50 minutes and finally we were finally brought four out of our five meals. Our server asked if we had everything and my daughter said she didn’t get the sweet potato sandwich she ordered. Our server left and the rest of us ate our meal and my other daughter shared her meal with the one still waiting. He finally returned and said the sweet potato sandwich was not on our ticket which was strange because he brought the Arnold Palmer that she ordered earlier. My daughter told him since everyone else were done eating to put the sandwich in a takeout box. He left again and he came back again with the box and the ticket and claimed that since they were busy and it was the day after a football game the mistake had been made and he didn’t charge us for our meals which was a little over 100 bucks. The food was good and we were satisfied with how the server had handled the situation but it still left us with some hurt feelings. Especially when we read some of the other google reviews and saw that we haven’t been the only ones with dissatisfaction. This is such a cute place I hope they will use this tough love and make some changes.
