We shared an order of calamari, which was some of the tastiest we have had in a long time! Beautifully seasoned and tender. We also shared the mushroom flatbread which was great.
Must-try: Calamari, Lobster soup, Sliders, Captains Catch, Captain’s Choice Burger, Surf & Turf (sirloin and lobster tail) and the newest addition to their menu, Cajun Chicken Burger.
Didn’t have room for dessert as we’re all full but we will definitely come back!
On our first stop, we ordered the lobster dip since it was the quickest item to serve. We had an MS Kenora cruise booked and were heading out in about 40 minutes. The dip was tasty but honestly, I couldn’t really taste the lobster in it. We told Kaitlyn we’d come back after the cruise for an early dinner and try her recommendation which is the lobster ravioli and so we did.
My fiance ordered the ravioli along with the lobster bisque as a side and I got the lobster mac and cheese and their french onion soup. (+$4 if you get this instead of the bisque and salad if I remember correctly) The food took about 20 minutes to arrive which is pretty normal. The lobster bisque was delicious. Rich, creamy, and full of lobster flavor. The onion soup was a bit salty for my taste but still enjoyable.
Now, for the main dish. We were honestly a bit disappointed with the portion. The lobster ravioli only came with four pieces. Compared to the mac and cheese, which had a more generous serving and was cheaper, it felt underwhelming. We also couldn’t really taste the lobster in the ravioli. The mac and cheese had a small slice of lobster on top and that was the only time I actually tasted lobster in my dish. If you’re looking for a proper lobster experience, I’d recommend just going for the lobster bisque.
The atmosphere was nice especially if you’re seated by the window you get a great view of the dock. The only thing I’d suggest is maybe switching up the music what was playing during our visit didn’t really match the vibe.
Overall, it was a great experience to try local food and we’re still glad we went!
Emma, our server, was phenomenal. She greeted us warmly when we walked onto the patio and treated us wonderfully throughout our meal. Service like that is rare these days, and we truly appreciated her attentiveness and kindness—she was absolutely lovely.
The food was just as impressive. I had the Cajun chicken sandwich with a side house salad and the lobster bisque. Everything was delicious—though I’ll admit, I’m a bit of a soup snob, so the bisque wasn’t my personal favourite. The rest of the family ordered the burgers and fries, and they raved about them. The burgers came on pretzel buns, which was such a lovely touch and made them even better.
A special shout-out to the Caesar and the bartender who crafted it—it absolutely blew my mind. He makes the rimmer in-house with fresh herbs and spices (11 ingredients!) and nailed the spice level. The garnishes were chef’s kiss. He also owns a tea and spice shop in town called Spirit Oak Tea, which we’ll be visiting tomorrow.
We left with full bellies and even fuller hearts. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re here.
Thank you to the entire team for an awesome experience!
