This place was a neat little spot to find down here at the Outer Banks! Stopped in for lunch and was not disappointed in the food at all! Everything was fresh and quick to the table, and nothing was old tasting or bland. My wife and I had 3 of the special rolls and a bowl of the “clear soup”. Will definitely be sure to come back and visit the next time we are in the area.

Wasn’t busy. Ordered the volcano roll and generals chicken. The roll (deep-fried) was served lukewarm and the first bite of the chicken was incredibly greasy and gamey. The texture did not feel like chicken. I didn’t touch the rest of it and it wasn’t taken off the bill when I explained the issue to the waitress. Would not recommend.

Best sushi & Chinese cuisine I’ve had in a while. They also had lumpia on the menu which I haven’t had since I was a kid living in Hawaii! So I was incredibly excited for that. Service was great, restaurant was clean, food was delicious!

We’ve been going here for 10 years now, one of our favorites! Love their booths, nice selection of sushi, attentive waitresses, and we can always get in. For lunch I love their bento box, especially the Disney box—it’s a great value for all you get. Tell Leo HI! He really gives us great service when we do family events.

Initial service was prompt but as the place got busier it became a bit slower. They did their best to accommodate our big group on short notice. Drinks were nice especially their pineapple sake cocktails. Sushi’s were fine but Jalapeños were not spicy and did not add much heat to the sushi.

What a gem of a restaurant! It’s easy to call Sanya the tastiest (and friendliest) Japanese and Chinese place around. The two chicken dishes we had were made with plump, high-quality meat. The sauces were thick and sticky in that delicious way that coats the back of your teeth and makes you want a little more. And there’s lots of other things to choose from (check out numerous reviews praising the sushi, for example). Best of all, the staff is friendly and welcoming, we had a nice little talk with our server and we only had to wait just long enough to know they weren’t rushing our dishes. Just check out number of pictures sent in by their customers and you’ll see that this place has truly made a lot of people happy. We were looking for a change of pace from the countless seafood/meat grill places around OBX and Sanya absolutely delivered!
