This is my first time here. I stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I was surprised to see that they offered their lunch specials on weekends also.
It seemed to be a husband and wife team working the restaurant.
I ordered the shrimp with vegetables. From the lunch special. Everything was served in to go containers even if it was ordered to dine in as I did. They did however give you regular fork and spoon which is nice. I hate to with undersized plastic forks.
The service was fast and genuinely nice. The food came quick fresh and hot.
It was a great experience and fair price.

Food was pretty good.
The staff seemed annoyed at our presence and they were out of a lot of items.
Next time I’ll order online and just eat at home.

My husband and I came here for dinner. The food was very good. The portions were large and we have enough food leftover for lunch or dinner tomorrow. We’ve been here before and will definitely return. The owner is very personable and knew all the customers picking up their food to go. He greeted everyone like they were longtime friends. It was nice to see. I highly recommend coming here if you want good Chinese food.

This is our go-to place for Chinese Food. Quality is always consistently awesome, and I’m welcomed every time I go in to pick our food up. Chicken and Broccoli is cooked to perfection, and the broccoli are always super fresh. I’ve tried quite a few things and they’re all awesome! They give you a good portion, too. Sometimes if I’m really hungry I get a side of Chicken Lo Mein and the noodles are never over-cooked. We live around a few other Chinese restaurants but Chen’s is the only one we go to since they’re so good and reasonably priced.

Went out of all the good reviews it had service was good but the food.. not so much . The vegetables were way to hot to even eat without burning your tongue for a good 10min. My sister had the beef noodle which consisted of 5 pieces of beef and pound of noodles .
I KNEW IT WAS OVER WHEN IT CAME OUT 2 MIN AFTER ORDERING. DONT LET THE GOOD REVIEWS FOOL YOU

Have gone here a few times and food was good. Ordered take out today and food quality was bad. I ordered house special chop suey. It had very little protein, a few small pieces of cabbage and mostly noodles. The egg drop soup was not good but the egg roll was ok. The white rice was also of poor quality.
Very disappointing experience.

Paper plates? To go containers? Styrofoam bowls and cups? This is what your food is served in when you DINE IN. Two or three booths are full of supplies.
As far as the food goes, my sweet and sour chicken had ice cold, uncooked vegetables and ice cold sweet and sour sauce. The egg foo young had one large egg patty covered with chicken and vegetables.
To say this was a disappointing experience was would be an understatement. We will not return.

I don’t know why this place isn’t rated higher on Google because our multiple experiences with Chen’s has been fantastic. All too often Chinese dishes taste the same; greasy and sticky. Chen’s has consistently prepared meals with fresh ingredients. The service is the best I’ve had in Mesa, Tempe, or Scottsdale. The food is excellent. Thank you Chen’s and keep up the good work.

This is the second try I’ve given this place and was disappointed both times. I had their pork fried rice..OK..but to much bean sprouts. Had General Tso’s chicken…the cuts of chicken were awful and unevenly spiced. What was most disappointing was the wonton soup..now I judge all my Chinese food by their soup and fried rice..the soup was ruined by adding shrimp, chicken,cabbage..I mean the whole soup tasted like fish water..very disappointed..2 strikes your out in my book. I will stick with my local favorite place for Chinese..which happened to be closed on Tuesdays..also in Mesa on Baseline.. Kitchen.. THEY’RE the BEST.. ..Sorry my opinion..

I had thee worst egg foo young I have ever eaten in life there. Good news, I wasn’t sick, bad news they put sugar/ oyster sauce. The gravy with nondairy element and used frozen peas and carrots and canned mushrooms to make it. Sir/Ma’am all of you in the restaurant. This was the laziest meal I have ever purchased so better. It tasted horrible.
