Everything we ordered was outstanding. The house marinated olives were the perfect start, and the French onion toast was the star of the apps. The crispy Brussels sprouts were packed with flavor, and the red shrimp ceviche quickly became my wife’s favorite. The tomato pizza with burrata was light and fresh, and the ricotta gnocchi with truffle was rich and had incredible texture. The cacio e pepe was a bit too overpowering on the pepper for our taste, but the noodles were excellent.
For dessert, the Profiteroles and Gooey Butter Cake were both incredible.
The cocktails were also impressive. The Rosemary Gimlet was light and smooth, the Say Less was my favorite, and the Double Eau was strong with a unique olive oil finish that looks and tastes super dope.
Warm lighting, cozy seating, and a fireplace make the space feel both elegant and relaxed, and the service was friendly and accommodating.
Most of the dishes I tried were fine, didn’t stand out but were all cooked well.
It was the quantity.
I get its restaurant week, but it still ends up being a $150 meal, you shouldn’t leave still hungry.
The portions are the smallest they could legally be while still technically serving you food.
I just think they went overboard with the size shrinkage.
Especially the cheesecake, it was like a crumb.
Like they cut a normal slice into 1/4’s.
The tuna is two finger nail sized pieces of Tuna.
At least don’t be stingy on the dessert.
Also – they just renamed the surcharge to “3.5% admin fee”
Cause I guess enough people wised up to the surcharge so they rebranded it.
I’m just sick of having to be nickel and dimed by restaurants.
Service and wait staff was great though!
We enjoyed a wonderful spread: the rosemary gimlet, creamy mushroom toast, grilled cauliflower, artichokes, crispy grain salad, ceviche, sea bass, cacio e pepe, lamb rigatoni, and profiteroles. To top it off, they surprised me with the gooey cake and salted vanilla ice cream, complete with a candle to mark the occasion.
Ella Elli is consistently excellent and makes any visit feel special. Highly recommend—whether with family, friends, a date, or even solo.
