Atmosphere- 5 stars- Plaza Azteca at Ross Park Mall offers a welcoming and festive atmosphere that blends traditional Mexican culture with a modern dining experience. I especially loved the murals which were a playful nod to the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), celebrating life, memory, and culture with a colorful twist. These murals feature calaveras—skeletons dressed in lively outfits, wearing sombreros, playing instruments, dancing, or sharing a meal. Overall this was a beautiful restaurant, very clean and inviting.
Service- 4 stars- our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Great job!
Food- 4 stars- We loved the food here especially the Chicken Tacos- one the tastiest seasoned chicken taco I have ever had. The menu offers a large variety of Mexican favorites as well as table side guacamole service. Definitely a must if you need a break from shopping.

Food was delicious! I’ve been to the locations in Washington and Robinson, and they Made me wish we had one in Pittsburgh.
We finally have one, and they taste amazing! The food isn’t prepared as fast as the other two, likely because they just opened and need to get in the groove. That said, the food came out just as hot, delicious, and filling.
Also the drinks are just as good (and strong) as the other two aforementioned locations. I am so excited to return soon!

I am so happy Plaza Azteca has opened at Ross Park Mall. It’s a great addition to the North Hills. This location is vibrant and trendy. The staff were attentive and friendly. Our food was fresh, hot and most importantly flavorful. Service was a little slow but I agree with some other recent reviews, I believe that was just because the staff is still getting into the groove of a newly opened restaurant.
We tried the Taquitos Mexicanos, which were crispy and loaded with flavor. Just excellent.
I had the Enchiladas Suizas. They were so good. The tomatillo sauce was velvety and rich. The side of rice was fluffy and a yummy accompaniment.
My Mom tried the Enchiladas Poblanas. They were topped with a decadent, sweet and spicy mole sauce. Sweet plantains were served on the side. They were very good.
My son had Mac and Cheese with French Fries and there were no complaints from him.
I will definitely visit Plaza Azteca at Ross Park Mall again. It was a fun and delicious experience. They have an extensive menu with many, many options so many more trips will be needed!

first time here and it’s a wonderful restaurant very nice environment delicious food, including several vegetarian options that I prefer and a cheerful and helpful staff. I was surprised at how quickly I was served. I rarely give any place five stars but this one is deserving of it. Give it a try. I think you’ll like it.

Plaza Azteca at Ross Park Mall serves decent Mexican fare, but it’s pricier and less impressive than local spots like Doce Taqueria or Franklin Inn. The tableside guacamole is fun, though portions are small. Service can be slow when busy.

The Birria tacos were really good. Shrimp tostada was really good. The chips were a little bit thick and the salsa didn’t have a lot of flavor. Didn’t like the churros as the inside didn’t seem to be completely cooked

My birria burrito was great. Girlfriend’s birria tacos were good, except whoever prepared them threw a 3” piece of cartilage/rubber she almost choked on into one of the tacos. Brought it up and the manager just said it was fat…slow cooked meat doesn’t produce fat that can’t be cut with a knife. Just brushed it off.
Service was OK…I had to get up and walk across the restaurant to see what was on tap because the server didn’t know and wouldn’t go look. Menu said “ask server for draft beer list!”. Lol. Didn’t get visited about refills or anything else.
Restaurant was nice, clean.
Can’t give this any better than 3 stars because of the taco incident and iffy service we received besides that as well. Prices weren’t great, other cheaper and similar restaurants within a 20 min drive.
