Great place to just chill after a few hours on the boat, especially in August. Service was great and the atmosphere was definitely family friendly. The menu had a wide selection of items. I ended up with a grilled chicken salad and my boyfriend had the crab cake dinner. Both were tasty for sure.
Would love to have some fans outside under the trees, however the shade was super nice!
All in All, will definitely be returning!

Such a perfect place to eat & drink outside!
The sail canopies covered us from the sun, but allowed plenty of airflow.
The views were very nice & the singer was talented, & it was nice to be able to hear him & still be able to carry on a conversation because he wasn’t too loud.
The waitress was very nice & attentive.
Too bad the food was Meh… we will probably be back though, but we will definitely try other menu items.

I’ve been going here for several years and the food is always good, the service always chill and helpful. I’ve never had a bad time at Skogies. So when looking for a wedding venue that would be low stress, guarantee good food and friendly service and a different “wedding” experience for my guests, Skogies came to mind. We reached out to Tony and not only was he willing to do it, he was extra helpful, asking what else we needed. Music, photography, decor, etc. but most helpful and probably the best decision made, he offered to be our officiant. And man did he knock it out of the park. The day was low stress, beautiful, and all of our guests enjoyed the food, drinks, atmosphere, service, and we had the happiest day ever. Everything about it was beautiful. I cannot thank every member of their staff enough. They set everything up for the service and reception, Tony held a beautiful ceremony for us, and lunch was hot, fresh and delicious as always. The drinks and music flowed, and a great time was had by all. Right on the lake, with absolutely no last minute “oh no, what about the..” moments. So beautiful. Please support this local gem.

So, hey, not every day and outing is a complete triumph, you know what I mean? You can win, but still need a little work is all I’m saying.
My ratings are usually either all up or all down, so this is a difficult one as I don’t want to hurt anyone…
So let’s just get the music out of the way… it needs variety. Every song sounded basically the same and were all the same slow pace. It’s a beautiful Sunday morning and people are coming to start what they hope is going to be a great day! Upbeat, bright, happy, and even beach vibe, IMO, would be more appropriate. Again, my opinion and everyone has one.
Our server was an absolute doll! And observing the staff, everyone was working hard and diligently to care for the patrons! Loved the two helping at the buffet, they were so sweet! Fabulous service from everyone!
The biscuit… well, it failed. Greatly overworked, it was tough, hard, and honestly could not be split with the cutlery. Having seen pics from other people, I am going to guess this was a one off.
The scrambled eggs, good. Bacon, little greasy, but good. Sausage patty, average. French toast, good. Pancake, average. Sausage gravy, fantabulous. Fried shrimp, good. Fried chicken strips, ok. Fried fish chunks, star of the show. Eggs Benedict (ham), half step behind the fried fish. Baked fish, on par with eggs Benedict. Spring roll, average. Fried chicken empanada (is that what it was?), okay. Fried oreos, okay. Fresh cut watermelon, great.
LOL hope that helps you out!
We sat on the patio, where the bar is. In the shade, just enough air from the fans, loved it! There was never a wait for seating during the 90 minutes we were there.
Thinking we might need to be back for dinner sometime… especially if we can gat ahold of that fish!

Country band was playing live music when we got there on Saturday night. The service was excellent and they even brought food out for the puppy! Definitely dog friendly! Gorgeous view of the lake. I think they’re only open on weekends in the off season, since it’s primarily a boating restaurant. Free and ample parking. Bathroom is a small walk, but not bad. Delicious fish and sweet potato tots, and the cider drink (alcoholic) was so refreshing! Only thing was we wiped off our own table. Everything else was excellent.

I was in town for a work retreat coming from Oregon and we decided to go boating on Lake Lanier. We asked a few people around where we should eat and we were recommended Skogies. And we were not disappointed! The owner and his wife were very kind and helpful and the food was fantastic! I had the blackened grouper with a side of Gumbo and it was absolutely delicious! I would absolutely recommend trying this place!

We came in on a Sunday. It was our first time going and we were expecting a restaurant experience. Didn’t see prices for a buffet upon entering and the hostess informed us, today would be a buffet until 2pm and to sit where we would like. My boyfriend’s son picked a table and we hoped for the best with buffet. Table had spider webs along middle with ketchup and mustard bottles. Buffett was paper plates and had flies and all food had been sitting out. Not much variety or flavor. Couldn’t cut through eggs Benedict. Our server was good and very friendly though!! My boyfriend’s son ate all of his pancakes but we couldn’t eat much of ours though. When she brought our check, the total was $71 for 2 buffets and 2 adults beverages. We weren’t charged her the kids pancake buffet (that was nice). $71 for paper plates, plastic silverware, buffet, flies, spider webs. Again, server was great but seems the owner knows how to make their money

Lived in the lake for 5 years and this was our first time here – we will be back! Laid back atmosphere, very good food, friendly staff and just a good vibe overall. Less crowded than places farther south on lake Lanier which was a plus for us. Wish we had tried this place out sooner but better late than never. Only issue was docking our boat. Little tricky on what was a run down landing area where spots are tight.

Seeing their ads all the time I decided to try the Sunday brunch after Church and have to say i was disappointed. BTW, it has gone up to $15.99. Staff was great, but food just okay. The selection was great. Eggs Benedict was tasty but the muffin was like a brick! Literally! And a juice, (Virginia bloody Mary) $8.99??? Wonder how much they are with booze in them!? And trash blowing all over the place in the wind from the fans. Nice outdoor seating area.

This lakefront restaurant has some nice views, but the food is not that good and it’s expensive. I had the crab cake dinner, which was 2 crab cakes and 2 sides. I had broccoli salad and fried green tomatoes. It was $31 including the up charge for the fried green tomatoes. The crab cakes were stiff and lacking in flavor. They were primarily bread/cracker with some crab. The fried green tomatoes were unimpressive and lacking in flavor. The broccoli salad was tasty but swimming in dressing. Not worth the price I paid. We tried the banana pudding and key lime pie. The desserts were okay but not that memorable. Service was good. The restaurant didn’t appear to have any inside seating and the restrooms were in an exterior building a short walk away.
