Finally made it to this delicious restaurant. Had 7pm reservations on a Friday. Tables filled quickly after we arrived. Our server, Celia, was knowledgeable, sweet and very attentive. We had the burrata bites, patatine and the bufala pizza. I had a drink recommended by Celia, a take on a limoncello martini, but better! To top it off we had tiramisu. Every bite was better than the last. I cannot recommend this place enough. We will return.

Four of us dined at A. Francisco’s during this year’s Erie Restaurant Week 2026. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience. We did make the mistake of sitting by one of the huge windows and, with the cold, it was a little chilly sitting there. Our server Josh was very attentive and informed about the menu and readily answered specific questions about preparations, etc. We started with the mushroom toast and burrata bites; both were very good with generous portions. I only ate 2 of the four pieces of mushroom toast (they were very large pieces of bread) and part of the burrata. The bread was toasted nicely and complimented the taleggio and mushrooms. The marinara served with the burrata was very fresh-tasting and light – a great compliment to the crispy-deep fried cheese. My husband got the OG pizza, which he said was very good: the crust was thin and had the right amount of sauce, cheese and pepperoni. I was hesitant to order the duck ragu because it’s been 40+ years since I’ve eaten duck and my main concern was the potential for gaminess. Josh reassured that it was very nicely done and he wasn’t wrong. The duck was prepared in a bolognese style and was very flavorful, if perhaps a little salty to my taste. The tagliatelle served with it is house made, (as are all the pastas) and cooked al dente. We also tried a side of polenta (not pictured); it was creamy and tasted very good. Our friends had a pizza (sausage and mushrooms), the arancini and the vodka rigatoni and were pleased with everything. Since it was a little chilly inside due to the frigid outdoor temps, our food did cool a little quickly but I defy anyone to find a truly warm restaurant dining room when it’s this cold outside. Overall, we’d give this a 9/10 and will definitely be back to try some other dishes.

Our waiter did a great job he was very attentive and kept our table in tip top shape. The pasta was crazy. I never had pasta with such a good bite. The arancini was also rocking good.

I heard that they were offering pizza take out this week, Jan. 12-16, so we decided to order two for lunch. One dairy free, the Rosa(?) with pepperoni, sausage, arugula and pickled peppers, and one O.G. with added sausage. The pizzas were amazing! Only negative, imo, was the price. $49 which included the tip ($8.00). I like pizza and have driven very far just for pizza. We have driven to New Haven to try their pizza (all of them), Detroit (Fredi the Pizza Man)… Fredie’s was my favorite, until I had A. Francisco’s today. Great char on the bottom and bubbles, not burned. Zero flop, but still foldable! That’s a quality crust, and the edges are puffy with a crisp outside and soft, chewy center. The sauce isn’t too sweet or acidic and the toppings are of high quality, you can tell. Don’t expect it to be loaded with toppings. This, I believe, is by design. This pizza is all about the crust!! This dough isn’t the same as what they used in the beginning, it can’t be. I remember what it was like when they first opened… it was ok, good… but not there yet. I would be curious to hear if the recipe has changed. So I said the only con was the price, and it is, but not as much as of a con as I first thought. I don’t mind paying up for good food, this was REALLY good food, using high quality ingredients! I’ll still get Domino’s hand tossed pan pizza, but for a real treat, I’ll get one at A. Francisco’s… the best I ever had. And I didn’t have to drive to New Haven!!

One of the best food experiences I’ve ever had. My two daughters (4 and 6), my wife and I were supposed to go a dinner / dance elsewhere for NYE and too much snow forced us to change plans. My daughters were decked out in dresses and were upset about not being able to go.

I walked into the restaurant, and they were running a 6 course NYE meal (which food was absolutely fantastic) and they were kind enough to not only let us grab a table but let the kids bring Wendy’s in at no charge.

Server heard we weren’t going to be able to dance and asked the girls what song they wanted on radio.

Incredible food, and even better customer service.

Thanks to all at A.Francisco for saving our NYE plans.

We had a delightful time. They make their own pasta with Italian flour. The duck ragu was outstanding. The table next to us raved about the pizza. I love the vibe. Excellent atmosphere music. Perfect lighting for relaxation. It’s pricey, but one of the best casual spots in Erie. Clean. Great service.

Never fails to impress!
A. Francisco’s delivers an exceptional dining experience that perfectly blends traditional Italian cuisine with a modern twist. From the moment you walk in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere sets the tone for a memorable meal.

The appetizers are nothing short of fantastic—thoughtfully prepared, bursting with flavor, and the perfect start to the evening. The fresh dough pizza is a standout, with a crisp-yet-chewy crust and high-quality, flavorful toppings that highlight the care put into every dish.

Complementing the menu is a selection of craft cocktails that are both inventive and expertly mixed, adding another layer of enjoyment to the experience.

The staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the food and service, which adds to the overall charm of the restaurant.

Whether you’re looking for a casual dinner or a special night out, A. Francisco’s hits all the right notes. Highly recommended!

Wonderful experience! The ambiance and overall vibe of the restaurant is very nice. They have unique cocktails that are a whole experience in itself.
The food was delicious. Started off with a few small plates – the burrata bites with homemade sauce are a must have!
I am not a huge fan of wood fired pizza, but this crust was 10/10. I am used to typical Erie wood fired – super chewy and crunchy. But this was so airy and flavorful!
We will certainly be returning for another date night!

TLDR: burrata bites app was fantastic. Food was okay and it took almost an hour to arrive. Service was unbelievably terrible

We went on a Tuesday night for dinner. There were four or five people at the bar, but the dining area was otherwise empty. We were seated rapidly. We were pretty excited to come here since we were recommended this place by a local friend.

We ordered the burrata bites as an appetizer, as well as their cavatelli, steak, and a pizza for our main meal.

The burrata was fantastic! It came out relatively fast and was among the best we’ve ever had. That’s when things started going downhill.

We waited for nearly an hour for our food on a slow weeknight

The steak was ordered rare, but came out medium rare to medium at points. It took a long time for the server to even come back and check on us and when we asked her if they could rectify the issue, we were told that medium-rare was typically what they cooked it at. It would’ve been helpful for her to have told us that to begin with! There was no attempt made to fix the issue, and we were left with an overcooked $68 steak

The cavatelli pasta was…fine. Nothing exceptional. The portion was small for the price. The pizzas were fine. But as far as gourmet pizzas go, there are other better options in Erie.

Our server did not check on us again after that for any reason. Not to refill our drinks. Nothing.

Unfortunately the whole experience left a pretty sour taste in our mouth. We won’t be coming back.

My wife and I visited on Thursday, September 11th for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised by the charm of the older downtown building and the decor of the space. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the service was outstanding.

We shared an order of arancini as well as an og pie. Both were delicious and the cook, especially on the pie was perfect. To accompany our dinner, we each ordered limoncello martinis, which were equally delicious.

The only suggestion we have to improve the experience would be to forgo the rap music (most don’t consider it music at all) in favor of something more attune to the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant. Jazz or Italian music would pair nicely in my opinion.

Overall, we had an excellent experience for our first time. As mentioned, the building, the decor, the staff, the service, and especially the food were outstanding. We look forward to sampling some other menu items (except for the limoncello martini, they need to be our go to) on our next visit.
