Been coming here for over 25 years back when it was just called la perla. My mom use to take me here and get the same shrimp cocktail . I stopped in after not being here in a long time and ordered the same. Although the name is different the service snd food remained consistent snd delicious.

Returned after many years and found the looks of the place as when I last attended. The prices were higher, the complementary chips not fried in lard like they used to, but bought in bulk. The fries with the carne asada were wedges, and not the French fries. The steak was thicker and a single piece, not the thinner cut and multiple pieces. The flavor has the impression of not being seasoned. While it was good, it wasn’t what u remembered. The service was nice, friendly and attentive to our needs. Since it was early, street parking was plentiful.

Service here is very good, it’s a great place to have dinner if you want a sit down place with TVs and a full bar. Sometimes you just want something more than a taqueria. Be sure you can drink a large mug of beer if you order a large hehe.

My only gripe is the amount of rice they give you is too little for my liking. On the other hand the tortillas are good and the great waitresses didn’t hesitate to give us fresh ones so that kinda makes up for the rice, but still. I love my rice so the small portion made me a little sad.

The Chile Verde plate is good but value wise you’d get as much in a super burrito for less so there’s something to consider if ordering that kind of dish.

Parking can be a challenge, so be patient or just park further away and walk.

*Update* Brought our two good friends with us to have dinner and we all had a wonderful dinner in the new to us outdoor back patio. Perfect mango margaritas in tajin rimmed glasses and delicious butter and garlic prawns and grilled fish.

Very cute local restaurant, excellent menu and delicious food at fantastic prices.

Just stopped by at this little nice restaurant to get something for dinner. Loved the atmosphere after I entered in, so grabbed a beer and relaxed at the back with chips and salsa. Ordered a chicken and seafood entree meal, very tasty and I expected it to be dry but it was like salsa and came with crackers. It was delicious though and really loved the customer service and worth a try

Came for lunch with a group. Greeted by amicable staff, quick service. Plenty of options on the menu for traditional Mexican food. Parking can be a bit hard to find, parking garage down the road. Ambiance is nice, indoors has plenty of seating, no wait time. Fish tacos were superb, beans were also good.

I love this place. I discovered it on my first trip to South San Francisco a couple of years ago. I was back today and headed here immediately after getting a hotel. I don’t know what the rest of the menu is like but the Chile Rellenos are fantastic. The wait staff is also very nice – must be some of the nicest people in the Bay Area.

I Love this place and everything about it.
I get the Red Pozole not a vegetarian dish
It does have beef n pork and all the fixings. Rashes, onions, cilantro, red pepper flakes and squeezed lime or lemon juice.
The back sunny patio is nice and there is a room with booths chairs and tables for private parties.

Had one amazing ceviche experience during the SF and NY game! It was loaded with shrimp, octopus, and fish. The service was also really friendly and welcoming which was a cherry on top. Good bar selection with beers on tap and a variety of tequilas.

This place never disappoints. Probably our favorite Mexican restaurant, specifically the campechana. The service is also so welcoming and kind. Don’t forget to order the paleta de mango!

Much like the other reviews say, this place is the best. The steak fajita salad was incredible. The perfect balance of heat, salt, and char. The ladies that helped us out were very kind and the prices were very reasonable. I will happily return next time I’m in the area!
