My friend and I hiked Amargosa Trail nearby and decided to pop in here for lunch. We each ordered takoyaki as an appetizer and a chicken katsu curry for me while my friend opted for the shrimp omelette house signature dish.

The plate of takoyaki comes as 4 pieces. And though the batter was perfectly crisped and the sauces were tasty, it hardly contained ANY bits of octopus. I have personally traveled to Japan half a dozen times and have had my fair share of takoyaki there. It’s a very popular street food and one of my favorite snacks there.

With that said, to have cut open each of the 8 takoyaki to discover it had very LITTLE to ZERO bits of octopus was quite disappointing.

My chicken katsu curry plate was very good. The katsu chicken was fried to perfection and the curry was very tasty. My only gripe was the stingy amount of rice on the plate. There was quite a bit of sauce leftover, which I happily sopped up with my spoon, but I shouldn’t need to order a side of rice when the curry-to-rice ratio is so disproportionate.

My friend enjoyed her shrimp omelette rice. She said the shrimp was cooked just right, the egg was silky and fluffy, and the house special sauce complemented the dish well.

She also enjoyed the hot green tea, which was served in the cutest mug shaped like a pup.

Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the prices were reasonable. The atmosphere was casual, and parking was free with plenty of spaces.

We ran across this restaurant as we are always going to Vons next door. I thought it was a perfect place to eat tonight since it was a cooler night for some ramen and new food to explore!

The two girls working were so nice and answered our questions regarding the menu as the menu was not very descriptive with what was in each dish.

I ordered the chicken katsu set and it was so good. I would have never thought to put the chicken katsu on a small raised rack to make sure the underside also stays crispy. What a smart idea!

My boyfriend got the beef udon with egg. It came out hot and fresh, and he loved it! It was slightly sweet, which I did not expect, but it was extremely flavorful and perfect for this chilly night!

There was an ad on the table for the pancake that we tried and that was surprisingly great! I thought it would have a stronger egg flavor, which I was hoping it would not, and it absolutely didn’t!

There was some soft music and the lighting was dimmer, which I always enjoy for the ambience of just being able to relax after work.

I would definitely recommend this place for a great meal and hope to eat there again soon!

The sweet waitress also gave us a piece of cheesecake for coming in tonight!

It’s our first time eating in this restaurant and I can definitely say it’s a solid 5 stars for the rating! I wish would have taken pictures of the food but I got excited and just ate right away but I can say that their food is one of the best Japanese cuisines we’ve ever had so we’ll definitely be back. Ramen is not salty unlike the others. The savory pancake was amazing! Desserts are so good! A little small but definitely worth it! Plus coffee between 12-5pm. Amazing staff, very welcoming and checks on us if we need anything. Overall, it was a great experience and we’re going back soon.

Amazing ramen spot! This was my first time here and it definitely won’t be my last. The food was absolutely delicious — rich flavors, fresh ingredients, and super satisfying.
Yummy crepe cake & coffee too.

Huge shoutout to our waitress, Kenia — she was amazing! Friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Came here with a friend and we both left happy and full. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Nada, Christina, and the whole crew are such a pleasure!! It’s people like these that make the dinning experience, so much more enjoyable!! From the moment I walked in, both engaged in a WELCOME, right away. 10 Stars!!! I ordered Chicken Katsu curry, Chasu Omelet Fried Rice, and the Mocha Hazelnut cake. Chicken Katsu was perfectly fried with a wonderful crispy crunchy. Just the way I hoped for. Curry was tasty and had lovely flavors. The Chasu Omelet fried rice was AMAZING!! The Omelet gives a total different taste to the rice, that a normal “Crack an Egg and scramble it” egg doesn’t. The artistry alone makes you want to stare at it, and ponder “How do they make it look like that?” The Chasu and rice were flavorful. The Mocha Hazelnut cake was Mmm Mmmm Good!!! Perfect blend of all all flavors. Who would say No to that? Would definitely recommend anyone and everyone head to Yoshiya Japanese Kitchen, for a relaxing meal that feels like it was made by someone’s Grandma, and you just want more, but the button on your pants just popped off, but you don’t care!!! More, more, more!!! LOL!! Make sure to ask for Nada and Christina. They are sooooo kind and will completely enhance your dining expierence.

Wonderful. Karage was juicy, tender, and light. Omelette was out of this world, with perfectly cooked shrimp inside. Favorite of the table was the beef udon with egg. Must try when driving home to Phoenix from Las Vegas:)

We had a wonderful experience here! We ordered the beef bowl, chicken katsu curry, and miso ramen, and everything was absolutely delicious. The miso ramen was piping hot, which is exactly how I like it, and the flavors were spot on and very comforting. Our server, Christina, was incredibly attentive and provided excellent service throughout our meal. We also loved that they offered complimentary coffee from 12 noon to 5:00 pm—it paired perfectly with the mango crepe cake I ordered and the Japanese cheesecake my husband ordered. The restaurant itself is quaint with a warm and welcoming ambiance, which made the experience even better. We truly enjoyed both the food and the service and will definitely be coming back again.

Stopped by Yoshiya on Horizon Ridge Pkwy and had a great experience. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, and our server, Christina, delivered excellent customer service. She knew the menu well, offered helpful suggestions, and made the visit feel welcoming. The food came out quickly, piping hot, and tasted authentically delicious. We also happened to come during a special that includes a free hot or iced coffee with select desserts, available between 12:00 noon and 5:00 pm.

The portions for my gyudon and chicken katsu curry were fair, though they felt a bit light for me personally since I have a big appetite. Flavor-wise, everything was spot on. I’d definitely return to try more items on the menu. Worth stopping by and giving this local spot some business.
