Tijuana’s Bar and Grill founder, Alex Gómez, began to work at a young age in a restaurant chain in San Juan, Puerto Rico. After acquiring experience through various restaurant positions, he decided to transfer within the same company to San Diego, California. Later, he began working at a Mexican restaurant chain near the border of Tijuana, Mexico. After working several years, and familiarizing with the Mexican culture and gastronomy, he decided to return to Puerto Rico, bringing with him part of that experience and knowledge. This event gave birth to the creation of Tijuana’s Bar and Grill in the Condado area of San Juan, in 2003, thus honoring the town in which he acquired his knowledge of the Mexican cuisine.

Fantastic Restaurant. Absolutely delicious, very good service and nice location. Been here twice and the “lasagna mexiana” (I had it with Chicken but I bet it’s just as good with beef or pork) was even better than the Enchilada I had last time. For European standards, you don’t even need a starter (I still ordered one twice because I wasn’t sure about the sizes and both times I took a doggybag back to the Hotel to have lunch the next Day (which is of course no Problem if you’re aiming for that 😉 ).
All in all, great placed to eat, love it and will definitely come back when I come back to PR.

Wonderful and delicious food. I had the veggie enchiladas with the verde sauce and it was good. They are vegetarian because of the cheese & sour cream if you are vegan just ask to omit them. It came with rice & guacamole but their housemade salsa was my fav. I don’t if they roast the veggies before they puree them but it was delicously divine.

Also not far from the beach and multiple hotels. Authentic delicious food. Vegan options are available. TVs mounted to watch your favorite games. Good music. Small but memorable place. High traffic area as of 5/6/2025 due to current construction. Employees speak both English and Spanish. Bar is available.

My wife and I stopped by while visiting San Juan. We ordered wings, a taco salad, and a smothered burrito. The food was decent, fresh and flavorful, especially the guacamole and seasoned ground beef. Service was on the slower side, but the staff was friendly. Overall, it’s a solid spot for a casual Mexican meal if you’re not in a rush.

Subpar Mexican. Salsa and chips, no flavor. Ceviche was sweet, missing the lively tang it should have. And, the dishes marked as hot are not. If you’re looking for spicy, this isn’t the place. Service also came with attitude. They offered to remake but we didn’t want them to spit in it, we opted to take the offer to take it off our bill. The mole poblano enchiladas were good, but small. There are other options in Condado, take them.

This place deserves less than 1 star. The drinks were horrible to start. Appetizer straight from Costco frozen section. This was by far the worst food in Puerto Rico. So disappointed! The service was also unpleasant to say the least. Everyone next to us was complaining and ran out of there. To makes things worse he forget to put my friend order, which was the best part of the evening. Would not recommend this place at all.

Food was delicious, service was great and the music was bomb. I had the shrimp fajitas and the shrimp was cooked to perfection, not over cooked and rubbery. I came here on the first night I spent in PR and it was the best spot on that little strip as I tried a couple other places. It’s just a little more expensive than I expected but it’s the same range with other spots on that strip and I think it’s cuz of all the tourists lodged at the hotels close by

First time here and while the food was good; the service I received was horrible. I was barely greeted when I came in the waiter didn’t come and check if I needed anything and when he did deliver my food made barely any eye contact. Compared to the service the table next to me received, it was day and night. As a dark skinned woman in a different country vs the treatment the light skinned received was greatly different!! I was absolutely disgusted. Called the manager over and was told they work in teams. So what does that mean?! I didn’t encounter anyone else on the team. I only had him. Dont gaslight me. I paid my bill and left. Won’t be returning to this location again. The only sour moment of my trip to PR.

Highly recommended eating or drinking here. Both were amazing, the passionfruit margaritas were delicious. The spicy shrimp soup and quesadillas were also really good. The staff was so friendly and attentive. The music and environment were great . And the AC was perfect after being outside in the heat. Sunny was really great bartending. The drinks were amazing. Overall amazing place.
