Amazing time at the Whiskey Lodge with my friends. The interior is very pretty and cozy. Seating might be limited, so big groups might be hard to sit together. I tried the whiskey flight, and I love the Sherry Cask. The bartender gave us free cocktail samples from their summer drinks called the Blind Melon, and wow it was super delicious!! We ended up ordering a glass of it and also the Alexander Hamilton (which is also good). So far, we love all the drinks, none of them missed.

Stunning space with incredible cocktails and bites. As an old fashioned connoisseur, this one does not disappoint. The Aspen Exclusive Calvados Cask is incredible as well. Some nice vegetarian options, including deviled eggs and freshly made pasta. Can’t wait to go back!

An incredible and much welcome addition to Aspen! The cocktails are very well crafted and unique. I’d highly recommend the espresso martini which is made with their whiskey and the barrel aged Manhattan. Don’t sleep on the food either – the pasta of day, grilled cheese with pork belly, and lamb flatbread were all amazing. Great atmosphere to spend a few hours after a day on the slopes with very friendly and helpful staff.

This was our first time in Aspen and we liked the look of Stranahan’s so we sat out front. Boris was our server and described the Stranahan’s cocktails with good stories. I had the Old Fashioned Smoky and it had real smoke! The Rocky Mountain Game & Cheese Board was delicious. He also said bears walked around the area at night. We wondered if that was true until the next night we were walking around the area and we saw a bear!

Amazing cocktails in a beautiful location in Aspen town. Most of them are whiskey based but even if whiskey is not your go-to they have options that don’t have a strong whiskey taste. There are also some interesting food options.

Stranahan’s Whiskey Lodge in Aspen offers an unforgettable experience that perfectly blends sophistication with warmth. From the moment you step inside, you’re enveloped in the lodge’s cozy, whiskey-inspired atmosphere, which sets the stage for a truly indulgent visit.
The food is absolutely fantastic, with standout dishes like their gourmet take on a hot pocket, paired with their homemade whiskey mustard—an innovative twist that’s as delicious as it is memorable. And, of course, no trip to Stranahan’s is complete without savoring their Aspen-exclusive whiskey. It’s a testament to their dedication to craftsmanship and creates a tasting experience that feels both intimate and exclusive.
The drink menu is vast and thoughtfully curated, but what really sets this place apart is the people. The staff is remarkably friendly and accommodating, making you feel like a valued guest without the slightest hint of pretension. The friendly vibe extends to the patrons as well, creating an environment that’s welcoming, laid-back, and refreshingly unstuffy—perfect for Aspen visitors looking to unwind after a day of adventure.
If you appreciate finely crafted whiskey and a setting that embodies a love for detail and tradition, Stranahan’s Whiskey Lodge is an absolute must-visit. It’s more than a whiskey bar—it’s a celebration of the finer things in life. Highly recommended!

Everything in me wants to like this place, we just didn’t have a great experience. We came out here on a Saturday night and were excited to have a new restaurant in town (we are local). When we sat down, our space needed to be bussed, and that was partially completed, but there were still a bunch of food scraps on the table that we had to ask them to clean up at the bar. Nobody ever brought us any water cups or water jugs. They took our drink orders, the drinks were okay. We wanted to order dinner and desert and more drinks, but nobody checked in on us for over an hour. Our server was talking to his friends in the corner and the other staff were taking their sweet time busy with other things or not paying attention to us at all. When we eventually flagged someone down, we just asked for the check and paid immediately and left and were kind of bummed and disappointed. The food that other people had looked and smelled good, so maybe it’s great? Just not an ideal first experience here regarding the service. That said, the ambience and the vibe is cool, very quintessential Aspen. We also ran into some close friends here which made us happy. The end.
