Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach has created a completely different golf course dining experience by transforming its old clubhouse café into a beautifully renovated restaurant called Porter’s Grill & Pub. The restaurant includes a panoramic view of the Del Monte Forest, a re-imagined, farm-to-table menu, unique wine and cocktail lists, comfortable leather chairs, outdoor dining and fire pits. The view is what sells it. You can sit, eat, and watch people play the 18th hole. We saw a buck run across the grass while people were putting. It is a breathtaking course.

Opens good and early on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Sadly limited Vegetarian selection and no fish. Toast had mold on it (was promptly replaced when we pointed it out). Nice views of the golf course and we heard someone order a double vodka and cranberry so if that’s your thing at 6:30am on a Sunday it seems you are in luck!

Beautiful place to eat after your round at Poppy Hills. Had one of the special of the day, al pastor tacos. Deliciousness.

The shrimp tacos were on point and a good meal choice. One portion may not be enough though. Blackened chicken salad was also a chef special and quite popular there. Good option on the way to the 17 Mile drive scenic points. We could spot deers in the golf course and the game was an interesting view if you prefer outdoor dining here.

Delightfully surprised – did not expect this quality at a golf course. The waiter, Nickolas, was exceptional on helping pick courses & wine. Lucky for us Wednesday is half price wine & he recommended an exceptional wine we totally enjoyed. Now for the food – we shared 4 courses & each provided an explosion of flavor – how can I say it better. We travel the west coast frequently enjoying the best restaurants & this dinner was truly exceptional.
