What a great find – the picky observer might say this place is a bit worn, but I see charm. Shirley’s reminds me of IHOP without the corporate cold shoulder. It’s warm and friendly. The staff is like being served a meal by an indulging mother or grandmother. My server Karen was amazing. She was kind, attentive and cared about my experience. The service at Shirley’s was highlighted in nearly every review. I can see why. FOOD: I had a great 8oz sirloin with 1/2 pound of popcorn shrimp, large pile of broccoli, coleslaw, thick slice of garlic bread, and two coffees all for over 21 bucks. Price, service, and quality. It’s not fancy, but it’s what a pleasant restaurant experience should be – the sign says it all (see pic). Try it!

Update: We went back for breakfast and the french toast was everything! We also ordered grits, a sunny side up egg and bacon and were very impressed with that.
Great food and even better service.
Building is a bit run down, but I didn’t feel like it impacted the quality of my food. We came for lunch, but will definitely be back for breakfast as it looked really good, especially the french toast.

I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant and I have been coming for years. The owner works along side the staff. The staff are always friendly and remember your face if not your name too. Great for family outings. Small, cozy, warm environment.

Amazing breakfast at this local family diner. The decor is dated and old and needs updating but I didn’t come for the decor. I came for the food. The salmon cakes were banging!!! Reminded me of my grandmother’s Salmon Croquettes. Stop on in. The place is not fancy but the service is good and the food was super tasty! Plenty of non-meat options for people who don’t eat meat outside.
Very good corner location!!
Sit down and eat inside. My waitress was awesome. She asked questions and made sure she repeated what I wanted. I love this because it eliminates errors or confusion. Awesome find after leaving the Masjid and going to work.

For starters the parking lot isn’t really marked and you also have to walk to the opposite side of the restaurant to get inside(not a big deal I know but for a handicap person it might be). Next is the inside, it’s very dated, dusty light fixtures and window sills and carpet needs updating. Next the staff…the waitress we had was more interested in a guy who was picking up an order. She didn’t check if we had everything like the salt and pepper shakers made it to the table when we were close to being done. The chef would come out to be sure everything was ok. Now to the food I had the country omelette which in reality it was basically ham and not really chopped onions with a bit of egg. I didn’t have any hash browns or cheese which should have been in the omelette. My husband food wasn’t great either. His hash browns where mush when they finally brought them out. Lastly my plate was chipped which should never made out the kitchen. Basically go here at your own risk but my family will not be going back.

Did a doordash order. I wouldn’t recommend to order their food the way I did. Fried chicken had good flavor as did the sirloin steak. If I had to I would order those two again. Shrimp was burnt, dry and tough. Mashed potatoes are from a box. I don’t plan on ordering from them anymore.

Went for brunch on Sunday with my sister and cousin. We arrived around 1p & didn’t realize they close at 2p. We were informed that our order needed to be in by 130 as the cook turns the grill off. We ordered and my food came out quickly and accurately. My sister and cousin weren’t as lucky. They got their meat & eggs but took a lil bit for the french toast. My cousin didn’t get her’s until we were ready to leave and reminded the waiter. The food was delicious despite the wait on the food and our waiter was very nice and made sure that our problems were fixed. Next time we’ll be sure to come before 1pm and hopefully things will go smoother.

Shirley’s Family Diner was a great little spot. As many of the reviews point out, the place is a little run down. I would describe it as charming. But don’t let that discourage you from patronizing this establishment.
The wait staff is friendly, and the food comes out quick and is good. Our waitress name was Pam and she was as sweet as can be. The cook Keven came out to check on us.
My Wife ordered the eggs with scrapple and instead of pancakes she was able to substitute for grits. The eggs could have been softer but they were good. She said the scrapple was cooked just right, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The grits were really good, like someone back there knows what they are doing.
I ordered the Pumpkin Pancake Platter which came with eggs, sausage links, and hash browns. I also added a side of bacon. The pancakes were soft and fluffy and has a good flavor of pumpkin. The eggs could have been softer but we’re good. the bacon was cooked just right and the sausage was also on point. The hash browns were good and crispy on the outside.
Overall we enjoyed our meal this morning and would go back when in the area.
They are like a traditional diner serving all sorts of options. You will enjoy your meal and service.
